Don't see this anywhere - Eric Johnson - Ah Via Musicom. Its certainly well recorded from an instruments point of view, not sure about mastering though.

I thought I would give this a little bump to see if anyone knows of any further albums to be added which have been released in recent months.

I will have to try and make my way through the ones that take my fancy, Master Of Puppets 24k Gold takes my fancy but I have no idea where I can pick up one of these in or delivered to the UK.

The 24K remastered version of DSOTM is pretty darn good

Not sure if they would be considered rock by all, but Massive Attack's Mezzanine and 100th Window are two of my top reference albums (I consider them rock amongst other genres).
The Gathering's Home and How to Measure a Planet also have some fantastic recordings.

I might add "American Beauty" Grateful Dead.

To me all of The Alan Parson's Project sounded well produced to me, my favourite's being "The turn of a friendly card" and "The time machine"

One of my favourite and in my opinion a finely produced album is Isaac Hayes' "Hot Buttered Soul"- The Bar-kays kicking it with James Alexander just mindblowing on "By the time i get to Pheonix"

DSOTM SACD (and 5.1 mix) sounds very good too!

Off the top of my head to add to the list:

Maroon 5, Songs About Jane - Matt Wallace home run.

Pierre Marchand is brilliant. Along with his Sarah McLachlan work don't miss The Devlins, Waiting.

Also don't miss Del Amitri, Twisted - maybe Bob Clearmountain's best of his best.

Very tough to pick an Andy Wallace favorite, just about any of them are reference standards.

And Tom Lord-Alge, another tough one. Going to go with Live, Secret Samadhi.

I'm glad to see Symphony X's The Odyssey on that list. Opeth as well. Both sound amazingly well-recorded, but Opeth's more death-metal stuff can get a bit tiring to listen to. The album Damnation though... I can listen to that over and over.

Black Sabbath: Paranoid
Porcupine Tree: Stupid Dream
The Who: Who's Next
Rush: 2112
Pavement: Wowee Zowee (parts of the album at least)

My Morning Jacket - Z

I have listened to this album numerous times each on a wide range of headphones and speakers, and I can honestly say that I have never heard an album that sounds THAT much different on high-end phones. This album is so subtle, and the k701s especially bring out all those aspects.
