Did you audition the dap somewhere, or did they send one over for review? Never heard of it TBH

That score: ouch, not very impressed huh. But QLS350 score for UI: 1. LOL!

Haha buddy, 350 doesn't have an exact UI. Open close and play pause forward :D

I owned most of them. Some of them were sent by friends and distributors.

Would love to see the Hidisz AP100 in there at some point, I'm considering it along with the Lotoo Paw 5000

Firstly thanks for the thread Mike, I'm a big fan of scoring system comparisons, far better imo than language descriptions. Where would your money be going in the 200-600 category? I'm heavily considering the QA360 or the P5000 at the moment. Features or portability mean nothing to me, only SQ.

Sorry for the late reply mate. If I was about to get a source from 200-600 category, I would pick QA360 first, then PAW5000. However, QA350v2 is a great sounding unit for its price. But it is a bit old fashioned in terms of UI etc..

Answering for Mike - not sure anything sounds better overall than a PonoPlayer for $400.  Plus you can get one pre-loaded with some favorite artists:
https://www.ponomusic.com/ccrz__Products?categoryId=a0GA000000XyD0NMAV&store=ponomusic&cartId=277a7302-ec49-4292-b3e2-b95a7d97e0da

Well they don't sell worldwide, so good luck (not sure where you are located).

Honestly, I am always interested in adding Pono player to the list. It would be nice..

Remind me again why you can't acquire one for the list?  Location, budget, something else?   You can't borrow mine for more than a day, I might die :).

I can try to put a good word in on pono boards to get you a review model, i have a little rep over there.  If your issue is location they might not be able to help there - for some reason shipping the damn thing fully assembled and in wooden box is too much for some countries to accept. makes no sense to me.

OK I've started a modest effort to get @MikePortnoy a PonoPlayer...

Any initial comparisons to the AK100II?

AK100ii is not with me anymore, but I can say that AK100ii would have artificial/mechanical midrange in comparison. Opus would have a better separation as well as better resolution and less congested instrument placement.
