I got mine for $217@Buy.com I believe. But i'd love to hear your impressions when you get them, please post!!

And then post impressions again after about a month of solid listening/burn-in THAT'S the sweet spot where I realised I loved my phones

I'm considering picking these up too...just haven't decided if I want to spend that much yet. My first pair of true headphones is my current JVC's...and they sound great out of my Auzen Forte sound card, I would like to get something nicer tho, with improvements in about everything. I just dunno if these would be decent for gaming or not, I know they'll do fine on the music dept for my needs.

I've owned the d2k's since January of this year and they are great for gaming, I play CSS, DODS, and COD4 the most and these phones have always been great for each of those games, especially in CSS, I can hear footsteps half way across the map! Hope this helps.

That definately does! Thank you!

I have another thread I started so i wouldn't hijack other threads ( http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/upg...g-rock-435356/ ). I was choosing between these, the new Shure SRH840's or the cheaper JVC HA-DX3's. I'm still having a tough time deciding, but I think it's a safe bet to give the Shures some time to mature at this point. I really like the looks of the denons aside from the cup hinges, they look like a severe weak spot. I'll definately take your insight into serious though though! I play a ton of FPS games, so placement is definately important. My current set of JVC 700's are doing quite well, but I wouldn't mind getting a much better set of cans either.

I'm so ready to buy these but by looking at older threads, I see A LOT of build quality issues with these, especially the loose screw issue.

Do you think these are newer versions with this issue corrected or do you think they still suffer from that loose screw issue.

I got mine from amazon discount warehouse for $167. It was a returned item but still covered by all warranties. this was two weeks ago.

What is the warranty on these things? Do you think it would be worth it to get a squaretrade warranty? Denon is mainly in Japan so do you guys think that warranty service would be hard to reach?

I got mine there too for around the same price a month or so ago. The listing said they had some cosmetic blemishes, but I'll be damned if I can find any!

so all of you think they are worth 220? I really disliked the boominess when I tried them...

too much bass, eh? I've never heard the denons but I've read a bit about them being somewhat like a 650 with more bass...been wanting to try them but tell me more GuyDebord...not your cup o' tea? I was searching for a closed hp with overblown bass for those times I just want to loosen up...would you say it's the anti-800?

Going on Head-fi reviews I excepted the bass on my D2000's to be horrible and all over the place, but even through my Soundcard it's great I love it. There's a lot of it, maybe that's that freaks everyone out. It's REALLY fun using the 32Hz setting on the EQ as your low-end boost, that's power for ya.
