after about 30hrs of burnin, heres my brief impressions. i just want to note that these are based from comparisons on the cx300 and cx400.

i think what you will notice right away is the treble. highs on the cx400 is more detailed and refined - a bit sparkly and natural sounding as compared to the somewhat "artificial" treble on the cx300.

mids are a bit more forward. vocals are now prominent. bass impact seems to have been reduced but its more controlled and tighter. i think this is one factor why overall sound is less muddy. it doesnt overpower the mids and highs that much unlike the cx300.

imo, the differences is not that significant but noticeable (at least for me)

Dranoel4190, how do they stack up vs the 5Pro's so far?

I have noticed some of the dynamic canalphones(Denon/Goldring) are giving the mid level IEMs a run for their money. Maybe the CX500's will be a nice option.

i havent compared them yet side by side but its definitely a notch closer.
one more thing, the cx400 is a lot less fatiguing than the cx300. i can listen to them for a longer period of time.

i hope anyone who have them already post their comments. just wana check if my impressions are consistent with others

i think i need to revise my initial comments regarding the changes being not that significant. my initial impressions are still valid but after a few more days of listening, the changes really are significant!!

imo the highs are the most improved feature on the cx400. cymbals now sound soo lifelike when compared to the cx300. this combined with the more controlled bass gives a very clean sound. a more relaxing sound which i think is the reason why my ears hardly gets tired.

if i would rate the cx400 together with my cx300 and ue super.fi 5pro.
cx300 = 5pts
ue sf5pro = 10pts
cx400 = 8pts!!

imo the cx400 is like a mini version of my sf5pro. but one major advantage is its comfort and portability. i love it soo much the sf5pro hardly gets any airtime now

The models are now all on the Sennheiser site.

CX 95 does have the best listed freq. response @17-22,500 vs the CX500 17-22,000 and the highest possible sound resolution too!
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser...f/root/500615#

The 95 is "balanced" while the 500 is "bass driven".

Those prices are AUD though. I do expect the 95's to be around $100-$120 when it comes out. I am going to get a blue CX95. If the guy on ebay who is selling the CX400 for $49 gets them he may price the others at $49, $69, $89. Under $95 shipped for the 95 is a good deal. I have a good feeling about this one. I think, like you, it may get plenty of eartime with me even though my current earphone sent all the triple drivers packing.

seems like the CX95 is their top model
CX95 for $161 vs CX500 for $127

weird product placement
CX55 -> CX400 -> CX500 -> CX95

Those naming system are based on how they will be marketed.
CX5* means it belongs to the street series - the cheapest priced of all Senn. earphone series.

CX*00 means it belongs to the classic series, as is the CX300. moderate priced and built.

CX9* means style series, the top of the line. This series has the best material and accessories.

Hi there! a big ciao from a new italian user.
Nice place!

I've found you searching for reviews on cx 95...
I've just buy them from a german store (a very good bargain!). As they'll arrive I'll put some shots of them. Unfortunately I'm not an expert in your subject, but I'll try to write some incompetent impressions too.
