Hi!
 
I was planning on a significant update on my current setup (E-MU 0202 + Sennheiser HD 580)
 
I am willing to spend around 1000 € (1300 $). Two products have caught my eye with respect to value and quality: the Benchmark DAC1 and the Sennheiser HD 800 (I love soundstage and resolution!)
 
Which one should I get first, or does neither make sense and I should go a completely different route? I am currently tending towards the HD 800.
 
I know this is a difficult question, so thanks in advance!

A new transducer will always bring more change than a new DAC or AMP, so HD800.

Thank you for your reply! I thought so, too. The emu 0202 is a decent source and I do have a headphone amp ... Bought it some years ago from a Canadian one man business, cant remember the name though and there is nothing written on the amp itself will check the bill.
