The X3 is much more comfortable as it isnt crammed in your ear like the Ety's. In terms of sound, the ETY's are a bit more clinical, and take some getting used to, while the X3 will have a more enjoyable, musical sound out of the packaging and really dont require much burn in... in fact if you have read my posts, and some others feel this way too... that the best, fullest sound you will get out of the x3 is straight out of the box. I think that both have their advantages, depends what you would be using them for. Both sound good for the price, but both have the same weakness, relatively thin bass. If you buy the x3 with the dtx50, you will have a great set for wide soundstage and detail with the x3, and one for knocking thumping bass with the DTX50 ( a great overall performer when you get over the initial bass boom and adjust to their sound) |

Ear buds may have limits, but the PK3s are on par with the X3s SQ-wise in my view. Just stating my view on the issue at hand, representing the other side, so to speak. Same with PK2S, and I have owned both (PK2 and still have the threes, and find them to be a fine listening experience, for the money or otherwise). |
