that's my setup
got the T-SI tip for the 936
works awesome. Soldering has never been easier. I was using a Weller Butane pyropen prior to the Aoyue936.

63/37 is good stuff.

i have the even older DMM version. The yellow one with no backlight. Probably like 15 years old if not older.

Haven't seen that iron anywhere, no reviews or ratings on amazon.com but it looks like my Hakko 936 which should be good if it performs the same. Maybe consider the Weller WLC100 for $30 as well?

Solder : I really like Kester #44 63/37, it's cheap and works great.
Wire : I usually use solid core 26AWG SPC for internal wiring, it's fairly inexpensive and works very nicely. Partsconnexion uses 5-digit codes, don't know what 7064 is.

Of course sometimes, I go overboard and use Cardas 23.5AWG or a nice ultra-pure copper in teflon for wiring, but that's only for VERY nice amps.

I meant 70634. Jupiter stranded copper wire.

I will postpone the buying of hook-up wire until I have the funds for the Buffalo DAC kit, I won't need any for the Mini^3.

I'm hoping to find desoldering braid, bulb, and a helping hand/vise on the same site. I won't be needing solder right now, friend is giving me some Cardas quadeutectic to try.

Thanks for reminding me to look there, thats the link amazon was buying the Aoyou 936 from. Could save a lot on shipping with this.
What is the braid/wick and solder sucker under, and did the 936 come with a needle tip or tipless?
