Someone's already mentioned flux, but, don't forget that. Good to have around.

The 936 has a tip with it. You could get some extra tips though. I bought Hakko tips for my 936.

I have a Hakko 599 woud wire tip cleaner. Not a neccessity but I like to use one or something similiar.

EDIT: Tangent recommends .1, so I am going with that.

I've seen them at Radio Shack. I have no idea if they're any good. Their braid is just sold as braid, no size, and it looks bigger than .1 inches. Maybe 1/8 inch. This is from memory
