Planning on buying these today, mainly for listening to house/techno music (both around $85). Pros and Cons between the two??

I've heard both, but I don't listen to your music genres so I'm not familiar with what might be the best fit.  The Sony definitely has less bass extension, and they aren't quite as comfortable.  They are built stronger than the CAL!, and have better isolation from outside sound. 
 
I own the CAL!, and they are a favorite for most types of music I listen to...really a good choice in the under $100 range.  Bass isn't exceptionally tight, but the overall warm tone and relaxed sound will appeal to most.

From Innerfidelity's review and measurements (pdf), The CAL has a more precise sound, while the ZX700 has a sturdier build.

I haven't listened to the Sony's but I just bought a pair of Cal's for work.  They are very comfortable and sound great.  The hardest part will be taking them to work
