Did Cowon update its tech page on PM2, updating sdcard max capacity up to 256gb? I remember it was max 128gb in the beginning.

Just installed 256 gb and it seems to work fine. 384gb are more than enough for me at the moment. This player is a keeper for me: nice warm sound, zero hiss, plays everything you feed it, including .cue, sacd iso, downmixes 5.1, lots of effect, fast and snappy UI, supports lyrics, nice finishing. If I want to stream, I use it as a dac with my Android phone.

My Plenue PM2 just arrived today, i instantly upgraded to firmware 1.40 and my First impression when listening ...... wow just awesome  . while A/B comparison with my Shanling m5s and Fiio x7 (no EQ or effects on PM2) . the sound stage and depth is the first thing that grabbed my attention really... the sound may have have less minimal details (so little) than fiio x7 and same like M5s . but something in the sound really gave me chills compared to the other two players (which clearly they lack) . i don't know what is that but i think its the depth and sound stage maybe.
then i tried using BBE effect and it was magnificent instant increase in details and high frequencies shined up without being too harsh or fatiguing. its really magical.:L3000::L3000::L3000::L3000:
i can't understand how a player that old out shines new generation and more expensive players like Shanling m5s and fiiox7 in audio aspect even without equalizer (maybe because it is not Chinese player? kidding):stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Note that i still didn't burn in . its just my initial impressions and i am pleased so far. i won't be surprised if some claims that it sounds close to Plenue S in that case

Edit: after a while tinkering with BBE custom presets , i am really astonished ... this thing is magical i cant really find any reason why should i spend 9999$$$ on dacs or daps( unless i want more power for cans ofc) when i can just tinker a DSP that perfect like BBE to that level of quality without any distortion. never saw an EQ DSP system that is so perfect and don't distort the sound keeping its tune natural without feeling artificial

It's been my daily driver as my X7II got stuck in China. Cowon DSP is the best in business.

True, I have compared it to much more expensive players like LPGT and KANN Cube recently. It has its limitations but it still holds it's ground which is really amazing.
It really shines with an AMP, you once said that line out is overrated and I completely agree with you.
I have been using it with a mediocre AMP and it still sounds great.

Ive tested it aswell with many big name , new totl gear and I still prefer it. Its nice to use other gears to mix it up but Im still very content with Cowin + amp.

Having an issue with the PM2 going into 'coverflow' mode whenever I put it down on a flat surface, has anyone else seen this? I'm sure it never used to behave this way so maybe it's a 1.40 bug?

Ok folks , I put a 400 gig sd card in my PL and PS Cowon daps and both are doing well. So I am wondering if the PM2 can work with a 400 gig card ? I have a 256 gig sd in both my PM2s but hoping someone had experience with a 400 gig card ?
