I have 2.40 installed. I received my device in October and recall updating it. i no longer have the files i used

Yes I got that but it says it's for both Mark I and Mark II. If something goes wrong though, I'm fecked.

Looks like the Japanese site downloads are working http://www.cowonjapan.com/support/support_wide.php
The update firmware seems to be the same for both units mk1 and mk2.

Upgraded the Mk2.
Mk1 was already on 2.40.

Got my P2 mk1 yesterday. Updated firmware to 2.40. Listened to a few IEMs and then paired with my KSE1200.
I stayed away from DAPs w/o streaming capabilities for so long...I regret it.

The P2 responds so well to EQ.

My Plenue R gets delivered today. I will have to decide which to keep.

500 EUR P2 mkI or 900 EUR mkII?
Both are brand new. The internal storage size is not interesting, I use an sd card.
Is there a significant, audible difference in favor of mkII?

The balanced output is a bit higher on the mi2.
I have both.
I haven’t noticed much of a difference to be honest but don’t take it for granted as I’m not using both on a constant basis.

If you use power hungry headphones with balanced cables : go ahead with the Plenue 2 mkii. It has more powerful balanced out put ( 3.21 Vmrs vs 2Vmrs of the P2). Otherwise, buy the P2. Both P2 mkii and P2 have similar sound signature.

Thank you for your quick answers, help. I still couldn't decide because the P2mkI is still like it, but they offered to sell a DX220 (amp1,8,9).
I’ve read that the DX battery life is horrible, but I’m afraid the Cowon is pretty old....I'm still sleeping on it ....
