That's gonna be interesting. I checked the review you mentioning comparing it to the Astell and Kern and it seems nice. Have you compared the Alien to some of your higher end sources?

I have compared to DX50, Its really no competition. Alien has it beaten technically. Its especially sophisticated in instrument separation and attack, the music sounds very refined and coherent. Its also quite detailed. What I'm finding is with players like C3, DX50 I need to really work their amp sections to get the amount of detail I require, therefore listen louder. Alien gives me that detail and clarity at lower volumes plus it has a specific sound that's just very 'classy' sounds high endish. All in all this is good for my ears and listening experience. I would not doubt at all Alien can keep up with an AK120, I already know it's better than X5 and my choice over DX90.

Dang. Well, the good thing with HD files is that you can't cram too many of them in a card, even in a 32GB card. I bet that thing sounds amazing with really high res. I can hardly wait.

I only use 16gb card with Alien, loaded up with 16bit FLAC. One thing you cannot do is jump to any given song, not without literally driving there manually. I make sure C3 packs a 32gb card, I'm using my C3 tonight with RHA T10i, working out well. Listening to Norah Jones.

Norah Jones is a delight in High-Ress. Actually, she is deligth in every aspect.

I just bought an Alien - don't do it - the interface blows - I'm pretty patient with tech, (Love the C3 with all its limitations) but this is terrible; pressing the on/of pause/ play button is too easy (I don't dare put it in my pocket) and pressing the volume rocker will inadvertently turn the unit off or pause it. God help you if you do turn it off - you have to start from the beginning again, there is no last song resume, and as for gapless playback - forget it 
 
The sound is OK - slightly better than the C3, but only slightly - not enough to make up for its' basic unuseability

Does anyone tested C3 + Meelectronics Sport fi s6p? My friend got wierd sound, like people having a flu, and low volume at level 34.

Just curious can someone tell me why when I transfer an album which is in order to my SD card the order is off on the C3 instead of the tracks being in order it starts with 2 then 1 and everything else is in order.  It only does it on the Tool 10,000 Days album.  Any help would be appreciated.
