Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread

That is (maybe) because when you drag your songs across you have probably inadvertently grabbed No. 2 first (I've done the same sort of thing in the past) - The Colorfly C3 specifically plays tracks in the order in which they have been transferred - To correct this - grab all your tracks in the Album folder on the C3 and place them in an empty new folder then when you transfer them back into your original Album  folder make sure you select track one  first and Bobs your Uncle.
I do this for all my mistransferred tracks

I have found the Shozy to sound microscopically better than the C3, but the interface is so bad that I would seriously advise against using it - EVER
Compared to the Fiio X1, X5 and now my current Pride and Joy - The Pono Player - It blows donkey - The Pono sounds streets better than the Shozy

And of course, the obvious question is: How do you compare the X1 and X5 to the Pono?

Ouch. What's a Pono Player?

Edit: right, Neil Young's baby. $400. I did say "ouch" already, right? :-)

I use this after putting files on the C3 to sort the directories properly.

Thanks Troll. I just remembered about Drive Sort last night but I'm on a mac. Batteraziiz will the link you pointed to work on a mac?

I always kept an empty folder on the root level and just dragged all files into it after adding/subtracting songs.  Drag 'em in, drag 'em out, and alpha is achieved.

For those of you using Macs, make sure you get rid of the Mac files being dropped into your device.  There are freebies to do it, although I use Blue Harvest. ($).  The C3 does not like those files.

Guys i would like to buy a hifi dap .Until now the most amazing sound i got is from a samsung YPT-7 paired with v-moda in -ear headphones.I have a limit about 150 euros. What do you suggest since its 2015.Is c3 good up to today's date?
What i love with my samsung YPT-7 (and its 512 mb) is ogg support, truebass and srs.I find this player to be the most bass friendly dap with a good clear sound.
If anyone has used one of this can he compare the sound with c3,x1 ?
Is there any new player in 2015 in the above price range to look forward to?

Well I'd suggest to go for the X3 or wait till X3 v2 is released.

150 Euro = $168 USD.

Yes, there are better options than C3 these days, though depending on your needs is the question.

Firstly, Colorfly C3 is not a bass heavy player, reason being it doesn't measure completely flat under load and presents a small amount of low-end roll off, it has no custom EQ only presets and is designed to be listened too set flat. If you're looking for a player that presents solid sub-bass extension C3 is not going to be the one.

Secondly, while I adore my C3 in every aspect there are now better DAPs in this price range from a feature / UI  perspective. Cue the FiiO X1, which has the bass you want by default, supports pretty much every format out there, true line out for amping, custom EQ (to knock up the bass even more) and much more user friendly. Does it sound as good as C3? Yes and no, but that's an entirely different story. The simple answer is C3 is not for you. Continue researching FiiO X1.

Like above mentioned, there is FiiO X3 II coming soon, (about April 2015?) though I am not sure on the set price exactly.
