Was it not a sealed unit when it arrived and what else is wrong with it? 20180115_182400.jpg
Here is mine I didnt even bother taking the film off until today it was getting like yours,
it doesnt peel off like a normal screen protector from the corner,I just used my nail to start it off,it is very thin but leaves a nice shiny screen, after a good clean.

I am disappointed that I received a used unit (it is not just the screen) when I thought I was getting a new player and most people seem to have received a new one. It might still be good value but I cannot help being disappointed nevertheless.
Sorry that you got a less than desireable unit and you have every right to be dissappointed. I have been in your shoes and it is no fun. All the best.

Was it not a sealed unit when it arrived and what else is wrong with it?.

It was sealed, but it looked like it had been done by a cheap home sealing device (heat marks and sharp corners). There are signs of wear on the cardboard box so it appears to have been re-sealed.

In addition to the scratches on the screen there are friction marks on the backside; there was some sticky stuff on the wood and what appeared to be solidified fluid stuck in the circular groves underneath the control buttons. When I opened the box the player was covered in dark dust that looked like remnants of inlay foam (which wasn't present in the box, so it seems to have been stored/transported in another environment prior to being placed in the box).

It is not like these are serious flaws, but they lead me to the inference that I received a used unit. I frankly cannot imagine how such extensive signs of use could be the result of the manufacturing process – unless the QC involves subjecting each player to heavy use in a harsh environment

Mine says 24/192 and it stutters with my mac.
Does your Mac see the device as being 24 192khz? My Colorfly screen says 24/192, but my Mac says 16/48. Usually if the DAC I am using has higher capabilities, it will show in my MIDI control panel, and I can choose it's output. With the Colorfly, I don't have any of those options. Anyways, it's not that big a deal since I'm not really going to use it that way. I was just running it through it's paces.

Mine had those scuffs on the protective film and maybe some traces of slight greasy glove prints on the unit. Not fingerprints though. Everything on mine was rub-offable. I suppose these things have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for awhile, since they were not that popular. On the other hand, my unit was charged when it came to me, so maybe they were tested before being sent out, which makes sense, since the seller probably picked them up as closeouts. Then repackaged.
In any case, if you got an obviously used up unit, that’s not cool by any means.

Mine took 2 months to deliver, came unsealed and looked used.
But for the price that I paid for, I had soon got over my initial disappointment....
unless your unit is broken, came with battery problem...
otherwise, just slipped on the bundled solid looking leather case and enjoy listening. :)

My C10 screen says the same thing. I didn't look on my mac to see if it said what it said.

Just so you know, there is a new firmware for this beautiful player around guys. It added the album cover support (excellent!). From their official site:

Just so you know, there is a new firmware for this beautiful player around guys. It added the album cover support (excellent!). From their official site:

  1. (1) increase the USB-DAC function, you can play the music through connecting your PC and C10
    (2) increase the cover of the playing albums
    (3) optimize the sonic boom appeared when changing the song
    (4) optimize the occasional sonic boom when DSD music is playing
    (5) modify the boot screen
    (6) modify the occupation of system to the CPU, thus improving the reaction rate

A little proof of the cover support.
Now let me tell you the player is still not perfect. There are some things that are still annoying me:
1 - Annoying problem with the SF Card. Sometimes when you turn off the device it won't recognize the SF card the next time you turn it on, so you will be forced to reinsert it.
2 - The famous clicking sound when changing tracks (or simply starting them) can become a nuisance. It can lead to moments where you will be unable to hear the whole first second of a song, which is really a problem for any audiophile. Now this could be 'fixed' if the player had gapless playback with cue sheet but...
3 - No gapless playback support. This is possibly the main problem as of now for this device. The only workaround is to rip albums in a single file, but that sucks if someday you want to play just that one song from the album. Even with a cue sheet the album won't play gapless, which really sucks because of the popping, clicking sound between songs.
4 - The USB-DAC support is not working for me. As soon as I connect the device to my computer it will disconnect after a few seconds. (Windows 10). I've tried different cables and everything but nothing seems to work.

And that's all for now. I wish there were more audiophiles using this device, because the sound quality is simply astonishing, and we would make more noise in the forums, so the firmware updates would run faster too haha.
Hails everyone.

Hi...its Alexandros...
I do have C3 & C200 as well from Colorfly
20171225_103745.jpg

This is C200 which gets to have the same clicking issues as C10 does at the beginning of each song leading this way at the loss of 0.5 sec of the track but.....who even cares....its top tier sound quality amazing clarity and soundstage width. ..
You really believe that C10 is of astonishing SQ?
If that so....i ll beter hurry up cause...there is an active drop on massdrop for 180$ ...should i go for it???

For that price, sure, yet be warned: I had a huge problem with my C10 after 6 months of use. The 3,5 headphone jack port got loose and eventually broke. I used an adapter and I think the thickness of it may have accelerated the damage, but I do think the inner design of the ports is pretty fragile (I opened the unit and saw for myself... The sound is amazing though...

Both Lotoo Paw 5000 and Colorfly C10 are at the same prize at JoyBuy. What do you prefer???

Lotoo Paw 5000 is one the most versatile DAP out there( line out, balanced 2.5mm,Bluetooth..etc) and has very snappy interface...however its sound quality is really overrated , that thing doesn't even have proper DAC/AMP :/
if you had to choose between these two i would go with colorfly C10 for sure if sound quality is your only priority.

if your talking about Lotoo Paw 5000 MARK II...then that's a different story.

$180 Massdrop is very tempting even though I’m saving my nickels for the Lotoo P5k mkii. Did I see there may be updated f/w? The latest on the website is from 2016. I would consider c10 more if that’s true. My c3 has been bulletproof (besides having to reset occasionally).
