Okay, I've changed my mind about the other thread because I tried out the urbanites and man; they were just really uncomfortable. And it seems to be just me, too...

Soooo does anyone know any headphones in the $250 range that are kinda suited for home use at a desk or a laptop       without the requirement of an amp?

I've been looking at the DT770s and the Denon D2000s but they both have a giant cable which isn't really practical but everything else on them was spot on (except the denon's price)

Thanks!

The problem with me for the vmoda's are that they are probably uncomfortable even with xl pads and that I won't really be using them to their full extent as I dont take my headphones on the go. Soo I think I could get better sound for the same price and maybe more suited to home use? I might just get the dt770 32 ohm, if they have the same sound as the 80 ohm which I have tried

  Sweet mamma, those look nice.

They're my next planned purchase. I would have got them already, but bought the higher-end Focal Spirit Professional recently.

What I find most interesting is that the SZ2K has dual drivers, like a woofer and tweeter ala speakers!

And yeah, V-MODA headphones are pretty uncomfortable without the XL Memory Cushions.
