Hi, guys

As the title implies I’m in the market for a circumaural closed backed headphone for under a $100 AUD, that can be powered, un-amped by an iPhone 4. I’m looking for a neutral balance since I listen to a range of genres, mainly Rap/Hip-Hop/Pop/Rock/Alternative and bit of Classical and Electronic music. While I will be using these cans for my iPhone, I also intend to use them as my everyday headphones, connected to my PC (on-board sound card). Therefore I need a headphone that is comfortable and can be used for long periods.

I’m interested in these three headphones:

Koss UR50
Brainwavz HM3
Shure SRH240

I can’t decide which one is better suited for my needs. I was wondering If anyone might be able to point me in the right direction.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Silver! Welcome to Head-fi. :3

I'm afraid I can't really help you with the options you have listed, as I haven't heard any of those options except the Shure SRH240, which I had a brief listen to. It's quite neutral but as with a lot of studio monitors you might find yourself missing the bass for some of your genres... particularly when out of the house when its harder to hear bass versus other frequencies.

I'm guessing you're Australian, do you plan to buy locally?
