Sorry, to clarify, "direct USB power" means I removed the battery and tried powering it through USB power port, not the data port.
Roger that

Was the battery that you removed swollen at all?Sorry, to clarify, "direct USB power" means I removed the battery and tried powering it through USB power port, not the data port.
Thanks to Apple's MagSafe solution I can now finally attach the Mojo to all my devices rather easily. I bought this "wall" magnetic MagSafe compatible ring on Amazon and it works great with either iPhones directly to iPhones, iPhones with MagSafe case or any other devices providing you stick a MagSafe ring on the back of the device...This is my portable set up theses days, the flexibility of the short optical cable allows me to stack the DAP & Mojo in different ways.
The thickness of the stack shown in the first photo wraps perfectly in my hand (thanks to the ultra slim external USB battery pack powering the Mojo) any thinner and the tip of my fingers would reach/rest on the volume balls.
I am one of those people who prefers using a dedicated DAP as opposed to a smartphone because i don't like music getting interrupted by phone calls, messaging, etc and more importantly; the reduced battery life. Besides, smartphones are thin enough to slide in any other pocket.

I would say yes.My original mojo is acting up. The battery has been bad. It would just drain if I left the unit off for a few days, but it was still charging normally. Now, it will not charge if I do not turn the unit on, and it does not seems like the battery is storing any charges while doing that. Once I unplug the USB from the charging port, the unit will just shut off. Basically, I can only use it as a desktop dac/amp now. It still sounds as good as it is though. Is this just a sign that the battery is completely dead?
Unscrew the base of the case and check your battery. If it is swollen then unplug and remove it, because it is a fire hazard plus could bend and crack the circuit board. My original mojo is acting up. Or run it from an external battery bank and never worry about overheating again or the internal battery losing its charge when not in use.Unscrew the base of the case and check your battery. As others have posted, it is possible to buy replacement batteries, or alternatively run the Mojo without the battery, but with the charger connected.
$19 is too expensive? The price of mojos' new batteries is unacceptable... this is the reason i will not buy any chord product with battery.
He just felt the urge to post that he wouldn't buy a Mojo. Did he really need to tell the world?$19 is too expensive?
I think he wanted to say about the battery replacement service from Chord.$19 is too expensive?
Apparently I wanted to point out to Chord that their batteries are unacceptable expensive… I think this is so difficult for you to understand..He just felt the urge to post that he wouldn't buy a Mojo. Did he really need to tell the world?
