Yeah, I downloaded the drivers and yes I'm using Roon
I always got noise issues when upsampling using HQPlayer and Roon. I believe Rob mentioned that not to use any software upsampling with Mojo2.

Normally Rob says it is best to let the Mojo 2 do the upscaling, instead of the external source device/software.
He also mentions Asio, but he hasn't mentioned wasapi on this thread.

So what does it mean to let Mojo 2 do the upsampling? Are there any settings I need to turn off or on to get the full 768khz?

EDIT: I can attach some screenshots to the things I'm used to changing.

All the Chord dacs upscale (unless you externally upscale using Roon, HQPlayer etc) internally to the full 768khz.
You are losing nothing by using normal CD quality material as the input.

All of that is of course unless are lucky enough to own an M Scaler. I sure Rob would say the upscaling in M Scaler is better than the upscaling built into the Mojo 2.
I agree that he would probably say that, because of the 1M taps.
I also think he might mention something about not that many Mojo2 owners would contemplate buying/adding a scaler that costs 10 times as much as the Mojo 2 on its own.

True but if a Mojo 2 owner already owns an M Scaler it would be interesting to hear what it does to the sound.

Totally agreed, but the owner might draw the line at buying a new MScaler just to use their Mojo 2.
[edited] Just to say that there are a few owners who are spread across the Chord threads, who seem to delight in mentioning that they audition $100k streamers, dacs etc, so they might delight in pairing a Mojo 2 with a $20k upscaler, or similar.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Simple question: I use a Mac to play files that have various sample rates. What should I set the output sample rate to, into the Mojo 2, for best results?
As Mac owners will know, the Mac does not auto switch bitrates but general consensus is that the resampled output is excellent.
It’s fixed at 32bit depth but the sample rate can be set as required

Shouldn't matter from the perspective of the Mojo2. The more important thing is to set your Mac's audio sample rate to match the file you're playing in the Midi app. It's a pain since you have to do it manually, though I have heard of (but not tried) software that automates the process.

I do wish Chord would release a sturdier hard case for Mojo 2 like they did for Mojo 1:

Has anyone found anything like this for Mojo 2?

You can already stand on a Mojo2 without damaging it, what would a bit of hard plastic do?
