You don’t need to replace the Mojo. Just add a headphone amp with remote control to the chain. Use the Mojo as strictly a DAC feeding the amp.I use the Chord Mojo 2 as a TV DAC/AMP with Optical connection from my TV.
My headphones Focal Clear MG.
I am looking to get an equivalent quality Dac/AMP as the issue is the Chord Mojo obviously ha son remote control, so I have to keep changing it manually as it's right under my TV. I do not want to try a longer Optical cable as that is awkward for me.
I do like the Chord Mojo 2 with my Focal Clear MG Pro for the following main reasons:
1. It does not sound harsh as do many other DAC/AMP's.
2. Has EQ which is very useful and I use it.
So can anyone advise of an alternative DAC/AMP for my TV as Optical Out to drive Focal Clear MG Pro based on the nice non harsh sound:
1. Has Optical Output.
2. EQ Function.
3. Remote Control.
4. maybe balanced which is goof for Focal Clear MG PRO.
Any suggestions for UK purchase?
maximum £800.
if it does not beat the Mojo 2 in audio performance then I will just stick with that.

@Soundizer What @Hypops have said. If you are afraid of harshnes you could try to get used ifi Pro iCan. Both Mojo OG and 2 had not a bad synergy with it in both solid state and tube/tube+ modes Plus you may like its Cross feed implementstion and xbass features for your Focals while they are implemented in analog stage unlike Mojo 2 digital implementation. Pro iCan has a simple remote. Do not buy new one Pro iCan Signature as it is way overpriced. Hopes that help...I use the Chord Mojo 2 as a TV DAC/AMP with Optical connection from my TV.

If AIO is not needed in this application, I'd consider the Schiit Syn. The width and presence controls added to the Mojo2 EQ really could enhance your TV watching. Syn comes with a remote as well. It's a pretty transparent and competent HP amp that drives Focal cans well.
Used Benchmark dac/amp with remote maybe?I use the Chord Mojo 2 as a TV DAC/AMP with Optical connection from my TV.

I got everything working perfectly now. Mojo2 + Poly + DCA Stealths. +1db low bass, +2-+3db mid bass. Unless I'm not at 90%+ volume, I do not get distortion.
how loud does it get at 90%?I got everything working perfectly now. Mojo2 + Poly + DCA Stealths. +1db low bass, +2-+3db mid bass. Unless I'm not at 90%+ volume, I do not get distortion.
Not sure the exact decibels but very loud. About ear damaging levels. It's right on the cusp of not having enough headroom but seems to do fine. Very impressed with it. Even compared to my desktop chain it sounds good.how loud does it get at 90%?

Driving my DCA E3s with Poly + Mojo 2, I find the M2's output to be adequate for the E3s, very pleasant, but I tend to use this combo more for bedtime listening or while traveling as it makes the E3s a tiny bit fluffy-sounding in the bass region and certain treble to my ears, even around 80% volume on the M2.I got everything working perfectly now. Mojo2 + Poly + DCA Stealths. +1db low bass, +2-+3db mid bass. Unless I'm not at 90%+ volume, I do not get distortion.
Running the Poly+M2 output through the Chord Anni integrated amp, I feel like the bass and treble both are more incisive and better defined at a similar volume. The music has more weight, if that makes sense.
Granted, I'm not sure how the sensitivity of the E3s and Stealths differs, and part off what I am hearing must be due to the slight coloring of the Anni and additional connections in the chain.
I have also tried adjusting the EQ shelves similarly to how you did, and it certainly helped make the E3s more lively when driven by the Mojo 2 only.

Not powerful enough to drive Stealth....
It is actually.
Yes, the Stealth does benefit from more power, but the 700+ mw from the Mojo2 is pretty good. No distortion and great sound.
This comment has no context. What do mean, exactly? Not powerful enough to drive Stealth....
Mojo2 is very capable of providing a very entertaining listening experience with the Stealth. Is it the final word as a combo? No, but it’s not black and white. It’s a spectrum.

Hi Soundizer.......If you can squeeze an extra £300/£400 or can wait to save the extra, my thoughts would be a used Hugo2 of ebay. One box ,easy set up, job done...... Im sure many would regard the Hugo2 as an end game solution, (in the portable audio world that is.) So you should be set up for a very long time. You will need to forsake the EQ though........I use the Chord Mojo 2 as a TV DAC/AMP with Optical connection from my TV.
