I tried the intelligent mode again, at the beginning everything was ok - the heating was the same as in the normal mode, but after about a couple of hours I noticed a stronger heating, so I decided not to use this mode anymore
Did you use it in a room that has an air-conditioner? In my use case, I use it on my desk and there is a mini fan so it is just quite hot.

It's important to be accurate, people use this site for info. One minute you've said keeping your battery fully charged isnt very good next it's don't worry about it. What evidence do you have desktop mode will degrade the battery over time ? Batteries do degrade, but what evidence is there desktop mode is accelerating this?

Others have said this also, many just throwaway comments.
Degradation depends on what full charge is. If Chord has been sensible then charging will stop at 80-90% of max battery capacity and the unit should shut off at around battery 20% capacity.

The point of desktop mode is for the battery to not be constantly charging and draining, which will cause it to go bad. E.g. if it is constantly charging and draining then it will go through roughly 3 cycles a day which will ruin the battery in 1-2 years. With desktop mode it will stay fully charged and the DAC will run off of the power from the charger instead.

Personally I wouldn't worry much about the battery being fully charged as long as it is not constantly draining and charging (like the old mojo did when connected to power and used 24/7), but some people like to worry and make other people worry. At worst one has to replace the battery in 3-5 years time or live with slightly lower capacity.

They have been, ever since Mojo classic!
Max charge voltage for these batteries is 8.4V, they charge to 8.2V max. to make sure the batteries last. On top of that, they only use top spec. batteries. It is not unheard of Mojo batteries, retaining 80% life after 5 years.

Just sold my OG mojo to a friend who needed a DAC and that was bought about a year after they came out. Battery was still good on that unit. LiPo batteries are very resilient as long as they aren't drained too far. Storage voltage would be 7.6v, but having it at 8.2v shouldn't be an issue.

Just connected my Mojo 2 with my Schiit Magni headphone amp. Still sounds great with the Hifiman HE-500, i'm just not sure if i should use the Mojo 2 as an hp amp or if i should leave the Mojo 2 connected to the Magni. What you guys think?

If Mojo2 can give you enough volume, then loose the Magni! it would be more convenient too.
I believe it should! even for the softest Floyd tracks :xf_wink:

So you are saying i should use my Mojo 2 as an amp, instead of the Magni?
And yes, i like Pink Floyd :relaxed:

Any headphone amp will add a different flavor to the sound. Some amps will add less flavor; some more.

You should listen to both methods with your hp. The one YOU like best is the correct one to use.

I think you should let your ears be the judge and use it whatever sounds best or is the most convenient for your set up.

I tried my original Mojo into a Magni 3 and for whatever reason I didn't enjoy it with the Dan Clark Aeon I tried it with. It sounded harsh and metallic, in all honesty I only gave it about 5 minutes and gave up. There might have been something else going on but there wasn't enough immediate value to bother experimenting further.

That said the HE500 are quite insensitive so the increased power of the Magni might be worthwhile if you don't want to crank the Mojo up into the top of the volume range.

My mojo2 got lost by GLS....

I could have a Hugo 1 at a fair price, any comparison ?
Sorry to hear that your Mojo2 has disappeared.

Check out the chain of posts which start here and debate a similar question to yours.
As you will discover, there is no consensus as to which is the best alternative, but at least you will get a sense of the pros and cons.

Thanks, perhaps I will order a second mojo2 when Amazon or GLS refunds me...
I think that choice is better than getting a Hugo1...
