If the Chord Hugo 2 is off the charger, I can't turn the Hugo 2 on with the remote control. Is this normal?

do you need to replace the battery in the remote?

Why would I need to do that? If the Hugo 2 is on the charger, it will turn on with the remote. So the remote seems fine.

You stated when the Hugo 2 will not turn on, but made no mention that the remote will switch the Hugo 2 on.
Consequently you provided no evidence that the remote was working - so it made sense to investigate the simplest potential root cause first.

Well, I was specifically asking when it is off the charger. So only in that situation.
