I have owned Diana V2 and Hugo 2, and I must say, the pairing sounded very natural, but Hugo 2 did not have enough power to drive them (pretty noticable on dynamics and low end punch was missing). I recommend you to look into Romi Audio BX2-Plus portable (battery) powered amplifier, to pair with it - as it is very transparent sounding (so it does not alter Hugo's sonic characteristics) while adding the needed power to it.
There were several posts from delighted owners about using the X10T II as a digital transport for the MScaler.
Since then, you often see owners recommend using it as an alternative to Poly or 2Go.
I haven't tried it myself, but I have felt tempted now and again.
I have to admit, X10T II is a great transport, and it plays close to a very good desktop one. It plays better than a USB input, have planty of battery power and HiBy Link working with it. So it can be controlled from a smartphone while playing from SD card.
I use my hugo2 with the 2go and Roon into a Burson soloist X3. Definitely gives a sound I prefer over the Hugo2 headphone out driving my Meze Empyreans.
I ordered an open-box Hugo2 from a Chord dealer, and it arrived today. I powered it on and used the stock charger to charge it, but it shuts down in ~10 minutes. I believe it is caused by thermal shutdown. I measured the temperature of the Hugo2’s chassis, and it was 40 to 42 deg C (the ambient temperature was 24 deg C). In an earlier post from @Rob Watts, he mentioned that Hugo2 would shut down if charge and play in red or flashing red battery light. Mine was in green battery light when I charged and played. Does anyone know if this is normal?
Edit: Forgot to mention. I connected the Hugo2 with 2Go and charged them together. 2Go was fully charged. Hugo2 was at the green battery light.

The 2go and Hugo 2 both have desktop mode. After 24 hours being plugged in, both will stop charging. You could theoretically bypass this by unplugging and replugging in both so both are on a charge cycle again. So you don't have the thermal issues like with using the mojo/poly on charge. As for thermal shutdown, I've never had that issue with both plugged in (and allowed to go into desktop mode). The 2go will get quite warm. I have it in a leather case with a vented bottom.
It sounds like a charging issue. I'd disconnect the 2go and charge it separately until blue. I often have to do this with the poly. For some reason, especially when the battery is run down to red, the poly won't fully charge. It will show a blue light, but it really isn't fully charged. Maybe the 2go is doing the same.
Actually, the 2Go was fully charged. Hugo2 was green. I connected both together. Connected the Hugo2+2Go to the stock charger. Turned on both of them. Then, Hugo2 shut down by itself less than ten minutes. I will charge them separately tonight. Hope it will be okay.

It shuts down automatically after about 10 minutes of not using it. You don't need to turn it on to charge it. 40 degrees is nothing to worry about from 25 ambient when charging.
The Hugo2 has been charge to blue. I did a quick test. Just turned on the Hugo2 with the stock charger connected. Played something via coaxial input. Ten minutes later, the Hugo2 shut down. I really don't think this is normal.

I played music through it when it shut down. That seems to be the thermal shutdown. This is the second unit that has problem. The first one from the same dealer has a faulty 3.5mm output that shorts my IEM.

Thanks for that.
I actually collected a pair of Chord Anthems yesterday for a really good price which is what I heard the other day so really pleased he was local and they in excellent condition.
Thanks for the link however

Mine does the same if I charge and play. Depends on the charger also. I now stand the unit on it's side which helps with heat surface area exposure to air and seems to help.
