Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

I just came across a review of the Ttoby, that I never saw before. In case anyone is looking for a power amp, to pair with Hugo (2), TT, TT2, or Qutest. I think the attractions with the Ttoby are the form, power delivery, and power level. Probably close to, if not ideal for desktop or pairing with TT etc.

(My Rega Brio does 50w at 8ohms, like the Ttoby. However my Brio only does about 73w at 4ohms, whereas the Ttoby does 100W. Although HiFi World measured it at 90w. Basically speaking though, my 6ohm speakers on my Brio are plenty of volume. However the Tttoby has a more linear power vs ohmage, which is exactly what you want in amplification. Otherwise as music frequency drops, so does ohmage, and power delivery needs to rise. Otherwise you get weak bass notes.)

Edit: Just found another one from originally HiFi News, and more.

No 2Go module at Munich. Maybe at CanJam London at the end of July.
Does anyone really have pockets that big?

Only the absolute fanatics. For now I am still ok with Mojo on my flights but there is a chance I'll become a fanatic too.
I want to live in 2245 when all this sound quality will be provided by a tear drop sized device built in your ears working wireless and controlled by thoughts. :)

I’m sure many do. But I expect many more would see the Hugo 2/2Go as a high quality transportable option for use in the office, coffee shop etc. If I was to get the combo it would be to serve as a bedroom system for use with iems.

I was thinking similarly. However Hugo 2 and 2Go is a pricey thing to take out of the home.

I still keep meaning to buy a fan-less laptop with optical, to drive IEM + DAC about the home.

I have tried to use my Poly/Mojo for a bedroom system but still need a phone to control it or a phone / tablet to control roon to send it a signal. Too much going on when trying to nod off. I always give up and use my AK Sp1000. I do leave the Poly/Mojo by a Family Roon chair with iems for roon use. I would never want to take something as large as a Hugo/2Go to coffee shop. Just asking for trouble.

Frankly, I'm getting tired of being strung along, not even knowing if they're working on a 2go or not. And anxiously waiting for a possible release of something interesting at these bloody distant and inaccessible rich-man glitter shows.
If the 2go is ever released, I plan to drop it with my Hugo into my deep pocket, or into a carrying case, and enjoy the best sound I can while sipping an extra bold large black coffee. Until then, I'm going to ignore any speculation about the 2go until it's in my face. I'm fed up with being dragged along between these overproduced audio shows I'll never see, waiting for something long over due.
Maybe I had too many of those black coffees today?
