Will 2go enable mscaler connectivity? Best guesses?

Been away from this thread for a bit - loving my Hugo2.

Question - has anyone used it with the new Ether 2 ? I have ordered the Ether 2 and a limited demo was rather promising but I would be interested to hear others views if they own both.

I tried the search feature but it threw up lots of other Ethers not the Ether 2.

Honestly, I don't give a dead kidney about the battery issue. If it dies, get it replaced.

I've had a hard time replacing mine since it was removed.... kidney that is.

Just a poor man
From your signature it appears you are using 16M taps with HQ player, have you compared this to an Mscaler?

Poor man’s M Scaler although it has brought up the sound another notch and enabled longer sessions. I had a MBPro I could dedicate and $200 CAD for the license. I am converting to DSD so as not to interact with Rob’s Hugo2 filter. Maybe if there’s a tax return ...

No way of trying straight opitcal to Hugo then? i hear those optical converters arent a good solution at all.

Some, not all...

I had the Breeze Audio converter mentioned. It can pass up to 24/96 bit perfectly - easy to test with MQA to an MQA DAC. It can pass 192k (you'll have sound and think all is good) but not bit perfectly - DoP64 fails to play...

I have this miniDSP USBStreamer and it can pass DoP64 fine, so is a fantastic USB-to-TOSlink converter...

em2016 is right, if I recall. Back to 705.6 PCM. Nice and clean DSD, I think.

You know Rob's FPGA (in Hugo2) will convert that incoming HQPlayer SDM (DSD) back to PCM right?

If you really want to use HQP with Hugo2, probably better to use the sinc-M filter, feeding Hugo2 up-sampled

Yes I did. Converting to DSD allows HQPlayer 16M taps to have it’s affect like the mscaler. IMHO
