I’d be extremely careful. If something seems too good to be true it usually is…I emailed the seller but he has not responded yet. I also looked at his history, he has signed up with this website only recently and has no buyer/seller history.
So indeed a bit suspicious. It's still on the German market site "audiomarkt.de".

Indeed. If the price is as great as you guys say it is, one would assume that a Chord Dave would be sold pretty quickly, but this thing has not moved and the seller is not responding.I’d be extremely careful. If something seems too good to be true it usually is…
I have emailed again, will see if I get a response. I will you keep posted.
From that site I've only had very good trades with good star rated people.
Once took on with a non star rated seller and that deal went hellish, still hanging in the ropes if I ever gonna get that gear.
@Tekunda : you're in Germany, just pop by the seller, well worth the travel and no surprises.

I would just pivot altogether. I'd never take a multiple thousand dollar risk on an item from a seller with no history, on a product with a 'too good to be true' price.
OK, audiomarkt just emailed me that the add got deleted and the user banned because of potential fraud.I would just pivot altogether. I'd never take a multiple thousand dollar risk on an item from a seller with no history, on a product with a 'too good to be true' price.
Well, this whole add was strange, never responded. Wouldn't you think that if someone planned to cheat, they would contact you in order to lure you to send money?
I am also concerned nowadays to meet someone in person, even if they give you their "home address'.
Criminals know that you will have a lot of cash money on you and a lot of things can happen once you leave your car.
These time a surely becoming more dangerous.

Mine is going up for sale but it won’t be for that money.Sorry to hear about your hellish trade.

I think you were fortunate to not receive a response from the seller.
They saved you thousands by deleting the ad.OK, audiomarkt just emailed me that the add got deleted and the user banned because of potential fraud.

Did you find the listing through Hifishark? A lot of the EU and non North American based websites (audiomarkt etc...) that are listed through hifishark have rampant fraud and scam listings. The vast majority are scams, in fact. Typically they will only allow you to pay via direct bank transfer, and then as soon as the money is sent they disappear. They can be very convincing and may even send photos with timestamps etc...., but when it comes to those websites, if its too good to be true, it probably is.OK, audiomarkt just emailed me that the add got deleted and the user banned because of potential fraud.

You can use them to find products listed on reputable websites like Audiogon and US Audiomart.

Of course, which is why I specified the specific, mostly EU based websites. I use Hifishark all the time, it just needs to be used with caution. You can use them to find products listed on reputable websites like Audiogon and US Audiomart.

Some of the 1st owner reviews of MU2 coming in. Apparently this guy had a Dave. “
Sharing my first impressions with the MU2. After receiving a new unit, with SSD this time, it took about 2 hours to tranfer all the music files. That was easy, although the albums in the library from Qobuz somehow only loaded the album covers after 1.5day or so. Powered it up playing Red Hot Chili Peppers on repeat for the same 1.5 day. Just making sure Flea's bass guitar boiled the last nano-drops of water out of the silicon before doing any serious auditioning.
I took quite a gamble to order the MU2 without trying it out first. Just assuming it would blend in my carefully matched set. And hoping it would not shift the balance. My experience with the MU1 and Grimm's excellent reputation made that an calculated guess. But still a guess.
But oh boy, it just took 2 seconds to put an end to any post decissional regrets. Take the MU1's ability to paint an image that is spacious, natural and completely credible. Multiply that times 2, and that is what the MU2 does. My previous DAC (Sonnet Pasithea) had a very good way of projecting a 3D soundstage where everything has its place and was easy to follow. One of the reasons why I preferred it over the Dave DAC which I sometimes found a bit too upfront, or the Tambaqui which also offered an excellent soundstage but at twice the price and sometimes at the expense of the bloom and naturalness (disclaimer: to my ears, my setup, my listening room and my budget, not as an absolute statement) The MU2 expands that soundstage even further back but also much much wider and far beyond the boundaries of my speakers or listening room. But I'm most impressed by the total naturalness of that space and the coherent way everything has its position in that space. How the tiny sounds hold their touch to their origin, for example he reverb connected to the singer, and the recording space. It is just incredible. A new window of truth.
Am I enthousiast? Yes I am. Ecstatic is even more close. Isthis the giant DAC killer? I don't know. Didn't try the dCS's, Goldmund's, Gryphon's, Nagra's and the likes here at my home. Don't have the budget to justify the audition, so can't make any fair statements. What I do know, the experiences I had listening to 6/7-figure sets that impressed me the most at audio shows or at hifi dealers, the feeling music was slightly slower and easier to follow, that's the feeling I have on my own sofa in my listening room now.
Need to do more hours of burn in and listening to get beyond first impressions. Think the bloom and (micro-)dynamics might improve further, as they seem a little bit reserved at times. Also like to compare the build in attenuator with the one in my integrated SPEC amp. With the Pasithea I eventually liked the analog SPEC attenuator over the digital one of the Pasithea. I think it is a good thing Grimm decided to use an analog as well, but making the comparison Db-matched needs more time and commitment. It is very nice to adjust the volume via the Roon interface, and hearing the gentle clicks of the relays under the (Silver!) central disk Although the factory setting of -20dB start volume seems a bit enthusiastic, especially when connected directly to a power amp. ”

I have to admit I wasn't even aware of Hifi shark. So, no I did not find the listing through Hifi shark.Did you find the listing through Hifishark? But it looks like it is a helpful website to find used gear. It is only a pity with all these scams going around, so after my recent experience I will be even more careful.
Thanks for sharing. I am interested in exactly this: in depth comparisons of MU1+Dave vs MU2.Some of the 1st owner reviews of MU2 coming in. Apparently this guy had a Dave. “
