Hi to all, would be great if someone can help me with an issue regarding using the Poly outside of my home network.

So, here's the deal.
When I have my Android (12) phone and poly connected to my home network over wifi, I have no issue. Both using Poly as a Roon endpoint or via upnp using bubbleupnp app.
Problem is when I am not connected to the home network. I connect the poly via wifi to the hotspot of my phone (so I can still have data from my sim card). In that case, bubbleupnp does not see the poly as a renderer. Which is a pitty since I cannot stream from Qobuz. Accessing the sd card via MALP is ok but not UPnP. And that's weird since I did it easily with my older phone.
Any clue to help me ?
Thanks

This poly is the biggest POS for setup that I have encountered in the last 10yrs.

I tried to go through the setup process, and I could hear the different menus and also saw it in AP mode. However, it wouldn't stay in AP mode long enough for me to make any changes. NOW I can't even get it to go back into AP mode and the M Status light is just a solid blue. If I try the pin for 5s, it flashes blue for a little bit and then stops. I can't find an SSID or bluetooth. It also doesnt' say anything anymore on the headphones.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

How do I enter back into config mode and do a factory reset?

Are your Poly firmware and GoFigure version up to date?

Gofigure is latest on the App Store. I can’t even get it to connect to Gofigure to see what firmware it’s on.

The M Status light indicates Mojo battery is fully charged.
What colour is the P Status light?

When it first starts up, it has a blinking blue light (I assume startup). Then it displays no color.

The blinking blue light is the Poly using bluetooth to search for your network.
Once the colour stops, I think it means that Poly has failed to pair with your network , and make a connection.

There are posts about solving this issue, and getting Poly to pair, but it may be quicker to check the FAQ first

I've gone through the FAQ, and where I am stuck is that I can't get it back into AP mode. I tried holding down the pin for 10s, but it never flashes green. I also can't get it back into config mode (it worked once), so that I can do a factory reset.

It sounds like your Poly battery has charge in it, so that is not the issue.
Maybe you have the up to date Go Figure, but an earlier version of the Poly Firmware.
It will probably be quickest for you to email support@chordelectronics.co.uk and see what they suggest/propose.

Sigh... It sounds like the seller I bought it from had not updated it to FW3.0, and there is no way to do it without a mojo1 as I only have a mojo2. The recommendation from CHORD is to send it back to the seller (lol).

Sadly that has caught a few owners out.
If the seller is not a dealer, then you could post the approx area that you live, and see if any local head-fiers with a Mojo1, are interested in meeting up for a beer while you update your Poly.

I found a mojo1 on ebay for $275. I guess i'll have one for sale in a few weeks.

I have seen posts where Mojo2 owners have met Mojo1 owners for a beer, whilst a Poly was updated, so it does happen that owners help each other out, and avoid having to buy/sell a Mojo1.

If you do have to short-term buy a Mojo1, then I am sure that there will be other Poly owners who will be keen to hear if you have managed to sort out your issue.

For android, it doesn't work. Tidal doesn't have a native support to Chord product yet. I should look into iPhone for next phone I guess. Airplay seems to be a good central app from what I hear.
Bubbleupnp has a feature now called "Audio Cast" that can help. It mirrors any audio played on the phone to it. I've tried it with Poly/2Go and it works. Can play downloaded offline music via Tidal and even Youtube audio (albeit, delayed audio). If there is any degradation in sound quality, it's difficult to notice. Sounds fine to me. I'm glad for the Bubbleupnp devs coming through, because Chord has been a letdown for the Android folks.

I personally refuse to switch to iPhone just because I want to make this system work. If I'm going to switch to iPhone it should be because I want to.
