how much thinner the one 3.5'' side should be?

i have to send messages to sellers asking them about this :p

This one won't work either, check the one I included before, see the jack is so much slimmer so that you could bypass the locking clip....

Does the plug stay in pretty well without locking?  I'm surprised more aren't talking about these headphones, they are very enjoyable.

Edit: I may have found another clone of these headphones.  On Amazon called Akai Professional project 50x.  They have red cloth inside, but are otherwise the same as far as I can tell.

Yes, it is very secure with the slim extension cable...it's very cheap and I could use my other 3rd party cable.

If you're willing to wait a month and spend $300, the Monoprice M1060 are seriously good headphones. I like them better than my old HE-500 good.

Sry bro just to share this which i saw from my local forum. Not entirely sure if its trustworthy.

Hello people, it seems that I'll be getting a pair of headphones from Ali, and I'm between the ISK MDH9000 and the ISK HD9999.
I'm currently using a pair of Superlux HD681 EVO and I would like something more balanced (a little less bassy). If anyone here could compare any MDH9000 clone with the Superlux it would be very helpful.

Hi, I haven't heard the HD681 EVO or the MDH9000 but I can absolutely vouch for the HD9999, they are phenomenal. Got them for $65 on Ali and they come with two pairs of pads, one that's thicker and cushier for more bass and thinner ones that sound more neutral with slightly better soundstage. I have heard the Superlux HD668B and the HD9999's are a clear improvement, the ISK's sound much more natural and are never sibilant, improved detail as well. From what I've read the MDH9000 are pretty bassy as well so I would definitely recommend the HD9999

How do the mdh9000 and its clones compare to the AKG Y50? As they're sold for the same price in UK, at 50 GBP.

I have quite a few ISK headphones (HD9999, HP2011, HF2010), although not the MDH9000. Also have the AKG Y50.

They're a totally different proposition, with the Y50 being
on-ear. I know the Y50 are highly rated in reviews but I wasn't all that impressed to be honest, very boomy bass and a short cable only.

So it very much depends what you're looking for, however based on the ISK headphones I've tried, for me they're a far better option.

I'm looking for cans that I can fold and put in a bag, that provide good isolation, and sound quality that is not inferior to the Sennheiser PX100-II that broke on me. I already have the AKG K553 for home and I love 'em.

Edit: I listen mostly to progressive rock

I'll dig them out and do a bit of a comparison later, I haven't used full headphones much since I started listening more to earbuds, but from memory I preferred the HF2010 being an open style, it's a really nice sounding headphone with a good soundstage. Both are really decent sounding and comfortable, but they're not bass heavy if that's ok for you. Also worth considering is the Somic v2, if you're looking for an open style. I might prefer this slightly above the ISK HF2010 and it's really comfortable as well.

Of the ISK models I have, if you can stretch to the price of the HD9999 and don't mind the looks, then that's my absolute favorite. The clarity is outstanding, and they come with 2 sets of pads, the thick pads being exceptionally comfortable - I can't comment on the thinner pads as I'm far too lazy to swap them out :-D
