Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)

Is the Pro-82 separate from v2? How can I identify the difference?
Pro 82 v1 (the original release) sold out on every store at Aliexpress back in 2017.
Pro 82 v2 (the improved version - without the pesky treble peaks) was released in late 2017/early 2018, and is supposed to be sold until today

However some stores do sell today Pro 82 with parts from v1 - maybe Takstar did another run of these, I don't know.
The stores that sell under 60$ are probably selling either the "night shift" version (that didn't go through quality assurance), or the rejects from quality assurance.
I own one of these :)

Here is the link to the guaranteed Pro 82 v2: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32808454492.html
There is a 5$ coupon in the first post of the thread: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/tak...iew-impressions-and-discussion-thread.849965/

... I have the Kensington cloud 2 (takstar pro 80), though they sound good I have never really considered them for anything else other than gaming.
Pro 80 is crazy v-shaped, Pro 82 v2 has nothing in common with it.

The link doesnt work for some reason. So why does the frequency response look different here than when Amir measured it? https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/takstar-pro-82-review-headphone.24878/

I don't want to derail this thread, so I won't go deep into discussing Amir, but long story short - his measurements are questionable at best, and he "hears the measurements" instead of listening to music. He listens to the headphones after equalizing them, so he hears the headphones differently from everyone else. His reviews are ridiculous: out of 14 headphones in the $2000-$5000 range, only 6 are good enough for him:

Basically, he reviews his own measurements and hearing, not the headphones.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32808454492.html doesn't work for you?
Can you see the store at https://www.aliexpress.com/store/314156 ?

Yeah you twisted my rubber arm, lol so I'll get pair. Neither link works though, it just goes to the home page. I just hope they are not bass heavy as that can ruin it for me, on the plus side it sounds like they have a pretty big soundstage. I was also looking at the mono price M565C planers, though they they are kind of bulky looking for using in an office setting, they also cost a lot more than the takstar. Also I forgot to mention that I listen to a lot of classical music, would the pro 82's be good for this?

Lol I still have the ISK MDH900's I remember you really like them but they never fit me properly ( I have a small head I guess). I always found them bass heavy anyways but I certainly liked how deep and immersive the soundstage was. Im hoping the Pro 82's will have less bass.
Interesting. I have the opposite problem--a big head. Too much clamping force from any of the clones (I've had 4 or 5, gave away several). The one I keep in the home office is the Marantz MPH-2. I tried adjusting the headband by "unbending it" (with some restraint), assuming the headband contained a steel core. It does not; it's some kind of dense cardboard. By adjusting it, I deformed it. Now it has a weird ripple in the headband. But...the fit is not perfect. And since I don't have eyes on stalks (like a lobster) and cannot see what it looks like on my head, no problem.

I use this clone a my vacation headphone. I pair it with the very first separate hp amp I ever bought, the tiny AIO FiiO e10k. And that sound is so satisfying that I don't miss my other gear for the 2-3 weeks involved.

All the clones are "bass-heavy," in the sense that their bass is very present, and the treble is not enhanced or overyly emphatic (not a "V-shaped" sound). But the bass is not overly dynamic to the point of being oppressive. It hits with a relative gentleness that I appreciate. The mids are really quite good, and as you point out, the soundstaging is really excellent for a closed back design. The result is an immersive sound that is a bit bottom-tilted, just like a lot of music performed IRL.

I wonder if the clones are boosted bass, I bet that's what it is. I remember stuffing the ear cups with cotton to tame the bass which worked. At any rate, having a hard time finding the Pro 82's

The marantz is on sale, unfortunatelly it doesn't ship to Brasil:

https://www.amazon.com/Marantz-MPH-2-Professional-Studio-Headphones/dp/B01E75MKRY

ISK this one appears to be the cheapest among The few I found.

https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0Wj1Lo
B8 plus this is The cheapest among the few too.

Takstar I found these links:

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mL5xfiq

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mq2CSny

I still can't decide, all look so good 😣 have in mind these prices must be multiplied by 2 cause of customs.

I can see from your post in the Takstar Pro 82 thread that you were able to access the TakstarAudio listing for Pro 82 v2.
I guess it was just an Aliexpress hiccup.

Pro 82 v2 isn't bass heavy at all, their frequency response is pretty flat from 20Hz to ~2.5kHz - even Stax 009 isn't that linear.
Pro 82 v2 is great for classical music, but you have to remember that it scales up greatly with the chain - you basically listen to your DAC/Amp, not the headphone.
I recommend FIIO BTR3K - it sounds great with Pro 82 v2 both wired and wireless, and only costs ~55$.

I've bought the ISK. Do you think it's necessary to buy a 3.5 to 4.4 to use moondrop Dawn balanced? Any cheap recomendation?

Thanks just bought them, ended up finding the proper pair in black from the takstar store on aliexpress. I was actually looking at the QC45 but it looks like it was a wonky response until they are turned on. That is disappointing and leads me to believe they are using DSP to create the ideal frequency response. I already have my airpod Pro 2 for noise cancellation on flights so im looking for something that doesn’t need to be charged.
