This looks good! I've been using the Pico as my laptop's DAC/preamp connected to my lisa, now I cant wait for this to come out!

Yes, Mac users have optical outs as well but there's no point using the optical out unless your DAC only accepts optical input. So, what's the whole point of putting an optical input on a portable DAC? |

Originally Posted by XXII /img/forum/go_quote.gif Well actually, a lot of PCDPs have optical outs so you could put together a pcdp rig that would surely be more cheaper and more transportable than a laptop + usb DAC rig. Anyways, you could ask the same question about why you would ever need a portable USB DAC without an amp. I think the point is that many people think very highly of the DAC in the Pico and would like to have a stand-alone option; size is not really the main issue here. |

Your post has just made me realize that I might be mistaken! |

Guess there are some serious limitations to make it happen. I use my Pico 90% as DAC only, but certainly appreciate the ability to hook it up to DAP whenever I switch to portalbe setup. Wondering if the difference between hp out and line out of the new version warrants an upgrade. Any chance to A/B two? |
