CF Mod to iHP120 need help.

I have personally installed a TopRam card in an h320, and the concerns are basically the same. And yes it needed a special, pre-release bootloader.

fwiw my A-Data card didn't work without the 7pre4 bootloader in my h120.

The CFModGuide page in the rockbox wiki has a table of reported cards that work or don't work. People have also used the Kingston Elite Pro card.

The iriver_flash plugin is not substantially more dangerous than fwpatcher, imho. It knows the difference between a file it knows how to flash and some other format. It's safer in that regard than building your own fwpatcher, actually.

Look, with the 7pre4 bootloader you can boot the rockbox kernel directly from onboard flash, cutting the total boot time to under 3 seconds. I don't see what's not to love.

both 32gb Kingston elite pro 133x cards work perfectly with no errors. the RB forums only has the 16gb listed as compatible, but the 32gb works just fine and cheaper than the pretec.

Hey guys Im so sorry but I just did manage to update the bootloader. It turns out that I keep pressing the nub thinking that was the play button, did not know instructions referred to the tiny button on the side. Only realized this when I went back to ericji's earlier post.

So what do i do next, Im guessing I have to run rombox.iriver right?

Excellent.

Don't forget to re-flash rockbox.iriver and/or rombox.iriver when you upgrade rockbox in the future.

Does anyone have the files for the last release of rockbox 3.3? I tried updating to the newest one but it failed, i also tried re-flashing it but kept saying "incomparable version". I figured that just reformat the drive and place the older rockbox on there, but i can seem to get them from anywhere. The older releases on rockbox site only has the new 3.4 version available. Darn i knew i should have made a back up, stupid me.

I had problem earlier today so I just upgraded to 3.4. I copied all of my MP3s from my iHP-120 to my laptop first. I removed my SDHC from my 120 and installed it in a reader to do this. It is much faster through a USB but it still took a lot of time. I then formatted my SDHC using the Panasonic SD-MC formatter. I then re-installed the bootloader and Rockbox 3.4 to my SDHC then copied all of my MP3s back.

for mine it wont let me install a new bootloader, maybe since i have already flashed mine? Would restoring the original iriver firmware then re-flash and reinstall rockbox be good? Would anyone be kind and share their backups of their .bin file

The ihp_120.hex is the bootloader file that you have to download. You do not need to convert it into a .bin file.
