Can n3 pro drive tin hifi p2 in 3.5 tube mode?

90dB is very low sensitivity for In Ear Monitor, I have tried Final Audio E5000 which is rated at 14Ω, 93dB and I prefer 4.4mm balanced phone output from N3Pro, 3.5mm tube output can't drive the E5000 satisfactory, so I don't think it is up to the job for P2, you better give it a try before you commit on it.

Tin Hifi P2 is a 32 Ohm 90db Planar Magnetic IEM. I don't see N3 Pro going to have issues driving it from the 3.5mm Tube port, N3 Pro is more than capable to drive even my 132 Ohm AKG headphone with ease

What is the sensitivity of your AKG headphone? 132 Ohm? I assume this is a typo mistake and you was mean to say 32 Ohm?

Andy, my AKG is an AK52 modified unit with 100 Ohm added on the driver side (hence 132 Ohm). And yes it has higher sensitivity at 110db. But I plug this headphone directly to my laptop I need to turn the volume to max to get it sounding half decent. While on N3 Pro I will crank it up to 75/100 on 3.5 SE Tube side

Quite true, N3Pro 3.5mm tube output is rated at 110mW at 32Ohm, that will exceed the 3.5mm phone output of most if not all notebook PC.

Lets put it this way, if your headphone is 90dB sensitivity (-20 dB from now), you need to provides 100 times more power to achieve the same result.

Surprisingly, it drives my Tin P1 satisfactorily in tube mode, although as I understand it the Tin P2 has even lower sensitivity. I would probably say the tube mode wouldn't do them justice, but I haven't actually heard them myself so couldn't say for sure. The balanced output will have ample power for them however.

I love the N3P and Meze 99 combo. Just a great pairing IMHO.

The N3P and Meze 99 is a fantastic portable combo. It's euphonic enough for me to not want to bother upgrading either one. Literally any "better" headphone would need more power which means the tube output isn't an option. I haven't heard the Panda but the PM3 wasn't as efficient as the 99.

I wonder if anyone can help me - just got this player and have noticed that when in Ultra-Linear mode the centre point of the music moves very slightly to the right, after a little longer my brain then perceives it to be pretty much centre, but it is noticeable when I switch back to triode or ss.

I have only noticed this on mono tracks, and it only happens in Ultra mode. On SS and Triode it moves back to there centres and they are both the same.

Is this what people mean by it opening up the soundstage? Or is it something to do with Ultra mode putting less power through the tubes and causing an imbalance? Or is there something wrong with my unit?

@Andykong Can you or anyone else advise? I otherwise love the player!!

My modest firmware requests:
  • An "All songs by artist" view, ordered by album > track number.
  • When selecting a song from a list to be played, jump to the playback screen (the screen that you only get now if you hit the home button)
  • Ability to disable album arts ONLY on the browsing lists. They load too slowly to be useful, but I still want them on the playback screen. On lists, use the space to show more text from song titles.
  • When toggling from Tube to Solid State, keep the tube warmed up for ~30-60 seconds to make it easier to toggle on/off for A-Bing (without having to wait 5 seconds for it to warm up again).
  • When Breakpoint Resume is enabled, do not autoplay music when the DAP is restarted. (I like for it to remember where I left off, but don't want it to start playing on its own.)
  • Option to disable the full screen volume display when changing volume with the dial.

A question for all of you who enjoy the N3Pro and its glorious tubes: what Android DAPs do you like, and why? Even if they sound very different from the N3Pro I’m interested in your take.
Cheers.

The primary reasons to use Android DAP for me is to use full support of Tidal/Deezer or any services like that. And specifically Android because only on Android DAPs you can have proper offline downloads of the library - I haven't seen any other DAPs able to do this. This was the main reasons I got my Cayin N6ii as N3 Pro fell short on that requirement.
