Cayin iDAP-8 streamer and iDAC-8 DAC

You have not seen the vast majority of the world or the universe and have not touched it, yet it exists. That is a failed and narrow-minded logic. :)
It's called solipsism.

Who cares, the item exists only in theory yet.
The item exists in reality to the people at Cayin with whom I was addressing with my question. Certainly a parts list for the DAC also exists, in reality. And I believe the iDAC-8 existed for the people who've seen it at trade shows. Did you come here to scold me for asking a question? I swear, it's like people want to get blocked.

This is from Wikipedia:

"Object permanence is the understanding that whether an object can be sensed has no effect on whether it continues to exist (in the mind). This is a fundamental concept studied in the field of developmental psychology, the subfield of psychology that addresses the development of young children's social and mental capacities. There is not yet scientific consensus on when the understanding of object permanence emerges in human development."
Attention:
“…continues to exist “,in other words you sensed it before. Otherwise it’s rather belief.
Thanks to all, it was funny!
Good night.

Wait, the outputs on the iDAC-8 should be RCA and XLR, not 3.5mm and 4.4mm, right?…🤔
Thank you so much, glad you have pointed it out promptly, I have replaced the corrected version immediately. :beerchug:

I use the Line Out and Pre Out table of the N7 DAP to compile the iDAC-8 output specification. Obviously, I wasn't thinking carefully when I did that. I received the 888 suit and N3Ultra measurements at the same time, so I was a bit rushed when I was doing that.

What's the latency on the iDAP-8 when using the inputs? Sufficient to use as a DDC for home theater use?
The digital bitstream in USB Audio of iDAC-8 is transferred in Asynchronous USB Audio mode, we have added a buffer before feeding the bitstream to DAC ship, this will lower the jitter of playback and enhance the data integrity. The down side is latency issue that will create lip-sync problem for home theater application.

Can we use it for home theater? I wouldn't recommend that unless your video display or Home Theater AV Center has a lip sync or audio delay adjustment. This is a very common feature in AV Receiver, and there are special footage and procedures to adjust the lipsync setting (HERE).

These days anyone can’t be sure because of AI and deep fakes:)

We have demoed the 888 i-series at CanJam New York, this is the announcement at the show impression thread, and someone did mention briefly that they auditioned the stack in the show.

It was said not about iDAC-8 but in context of further joking discussion. It’s all because there’s no other source but your posts in regard of this new series. I personally have no doubt that we’ll see this series in real life soon because there’s nothing unique or revolutionary in its design.

The iDRAC-8 seems perfect. Will be on my shortlist
@Andykong Any chance of a CD with the same footprint or would that be the Cayin Mini-CD MK2?

Unfortunately, the dimension of mini-CD MK2 is 240mm x 213 mm x 58mm, so it won't match with the iDAC-8 because we make the mini_CD MK2 according to the footprint of iDAC-6 MK2 and iHS-6.
