How about something like aeon Noire, ether, meze liric/ empyrian?

Haven't tried the Aeon Noire, but I have tried the Stealth briefly and it works great IMHO. Meze Liric and Elite are my regular headphones with HA-3A in the past few weeks, so definitely not a problem.

It's so difficult to compare US prices with EU/UK as they don't include their local taxes on price tags. I think the biggest factor for dealers in their pricing from the source company.

For the longest time the Eur - Dollar exchange Rate made it that a
X $ (excluding tax) = ~X € (incl. Tax)

However this drastically changed in the past 4 months..

Well, $1,599, I think the price is reasonable and close to what members here were expecting in the $1,500 range.

I wonder would it be perfect with the HD 800s! Also, the unit dimensions are not mentioned yet.

The dimension was already mentioned though? The footprint was also said to be A4 size paper equivalent.

i realise the 3.5mm output has more power than the 4.4mm balance. did i read it wrongly ?

Looks like a typo for the 3.5 as the only SE output I see is the 6.3mm jack.

I haven't. Zach will pick up his HA-3A very soon, I am sure he is a more reliable source to comment on the pairing of ZMF headphones with HA-3A. For mix and match with other headphones, we probably need to wait for the full review from Headfonia, hopefully, this is not going to be a long wait.
