Hi..when using a DAP like the LO of SP3000 with the C9 on Pre Amp mode... who controls the vol now? both are in fix vol right? thanks...newbie here

When you connect a DAP to C9 in preamp mode, the volume control of C9 will be disabled, you can only control the volume via your DAP.

Selling my C9 with Leathercase if someone is interested (EU), it has a fantastic sound.
It's almost new and I've used it for no more than an hour. Listen again with Desktop Setup.

Then a dual 3 pin XLR to 4.4mm cable, but C9 isn’t really meant to be used with desktop DAC. It’s output might be too hot, so if you can lower it

Not only too hot- the issue is that there could be shared ground in the connection that will short circuit and fry your amp. Pls check page 48, post #719 of this thread and if still unsure, PM @Andykong from Cayin or perhaps he will weigh-in here. Every DAC is different, and it may be ok, as long as you don’t charge the C9 while you are connected to the DAC and playing music.

Andy, are you posting it here so we can expect a new C9 version with a DAC inside, an R2R or 1-bit DAC maybe? That would be quite an announcement. I know you can't answer this, I'm just teasing you.

C-series is their portable amp product line, why would they add a dac to turn it into something else? But I know, it's just a wishful thinking

To compete against others like Woo WA8, iFI Gryphon, and others. Many people these days have all their music on a phone or stream from a phone so pairing it to a top « transportable » dac-amp makes sense to those people versus buying a DAP. As you said, wishful thinking!

C9 with any dac absolutely destroys those two. I don’t know any portable dac/amp that exists in that form at that level, maybe the lotoo mjolnir

Hi! I owned the DX300 MAX and C9 too! would like to know how you connect the MAX with C9 "Pre" function or did you only use the line out to C9?

another question is, with the IER-Z1R how you set the gain (L,M,H) on 300MAX and gain (L,H) on C9?

Hi, could anyone help me please..

I received my C9 today but it will not turn on.. I believe that the battery module may have gone into the Protection Mode..

However, I could not seem to disable the Protection Mode, even after following the steps in the thread..

I have done the followings:
1. Removed the battery tray and batteries
2. Connected them to a USB charger where the fourth LED (below H) blinked for 10 seconds
3. Inserted the battery tray back to the main unit
4. The C9 still would not turn on..

Should I have done something differently?
