So since this is a reboot, does this mean the are going to start remaking the rest of the movies?

Anyone heard anything?

According to Wikipedia, Barbara Broccoli has said that there are no plans to do remakes of earlier Bond movies, and Daniel Craig has hinted that the next Bond movie is a direct sequal to Casino Royale.

Correct. The next Bond is basically just like it was with Matrix 2 and 3, a single movie cut in twine. As far as I'm hearing on IMDB. Peace.

Not quite. But compare Scott Glenn:

Anyway, I guess I rather stick to the old version. Can't imagine the new one to be even half as good without Ursula Andress, Deborah Kerr, Peter Sellers, Orson Welles, William Holden, Woody Allen et cetera. But maybe I'm just getting old...

Huh... Hadn't heard that. Sounds like an interesting concept though. All of the modern Bonds (and most of the older ones IIRC) have been pretty disconnected from each other so it would be interesting to see a larger story arc.

I watched James Bond yesterday and to be honest I didnt like it. I dont know why but there is something about the new James that makes you feel sorry for him instead of be afraid or respectful to him. Also James doesnt get any "action" in the film and the love scenes are cut. This is very politically correct but its very un-James Bond. Also I cant say I was very fond of the Bond girls as well. I think the best looking one was the hotel manager and James didnt get closer than talking to her for 2 mins.

The Astons rock though (dont know how its possible to flip an Aston by turning the steering wheel)!

well the reason they wanted you to feel sorry for him was to make him more real, not so cartoon super-hero like... kind of like what dalton was trying to do with the bond character... which i like personally... but a lot of people didnt like that, just like when dalton tried to do it back in the 80's

Yes but its James Bond.

He isnt real anyway. Why try to make him more realistic? He is butt-ugly too. I mean he got off the car and some girls were checking him out. There is no way that would be true in real life.

I agree whole heartedly with the latter part, but Scott Glenn? No cool -- no elan -- no savoir faire -- too heavy/serious. But Ursula -- Sellers -- Woody -- Ahhhh.

Although brosnan was technically the bond for my generation, I never really liked him. He just didn't have any grit.

Just threw him in for alikeness - which I found rather striking, actually. But, sure, from his roles so far, it might be somewhat difficult to imagine him as 007... And he'd be too old now, anyway.

Yup, that's one great movie that certainly doesn't suffer from a lack of stars and humour. I guess, my dearest character in it would be Deborah Kerr as the Scottish widow - the accent alone... *rofl*

Ah yes, Manfred. Lady Fiona McTarry (Agent Mimi), who dubbed the only remains of M -- his toupee -- a "hairloom". Did the Lady serve up a nice haggis, or am I thinking of another film?
