Spectre was just obvious choice as that was the company bond was fighting in the first bond movies, and Casino Royale and QoS are prequels to those, sort of. Its a shame if Spectre doesnt make an appearance in this new bond serie.

The title of the movie refers to bond getting some small measure of comfort, however they decided to also make Quantum the organisations name.

Hence:
Mr Greene: You said you would let me go. I told you everything you wanted to know about Quantum. (I am paraphrasing here).

Yes, I remember what he said. I was just so thick headed about what he was talking.

The new Bond and Incredible Hulk are emo (I shall not comment on the new Terminator as I haven't seen it, and I doubt you have either)? In what way are they emo? (aren't those people who hate life and have those funky haircuts like peter had in Spider-Man 3 [which was painfull to watch]).

Sean Connery Bond:
Shocking! (and yes, this is from Goldfinger, the witticisms ARE welcome

)

Roger Moore Bond:
words cannot make this point (0.o):

Timothy Dalton Bond:
If you want your money, here it is!

Pierce Brosnan Bond:
"For England James?"
NO, for me.

Daniel Craig Bond:
I drink because I'm sad.
I'm sad because I drink.

'nuff said

Hmm, so any human emotion after the death of the person he loved is a bad move. I guess Pierce Brosnans Bond's moment of regret after shotting Electra was all the morning time one should need before diving into water jumping into a submarine thats about to go explode with a nuke, then to have time to swim of and make a crack at as he thought Christmas only came once a year.

*Shudders*

Craigs Bond isn't sad because he drinks, he's pissed because he felt betrayed. (hence "I think you're so blinded by inconsolible rage I don't think you care who you hurt", and preparing to shot Cammile to spare her from the same death as her family).

King Kong was an astonishingly crap film, but the original is so dated that it's much better by simple default.

Peter Jackson's King Kong should be at the top of the list for the worst remakes ever made. As far as the original being outdated, I would have to disagree. It's one of the most monumental films of all time with argueably one of the best film scores ever, and people are still trying to figure out how they did some of the special effects.

As for the best remake ever made - Ben Hur!

its an action movie, I could care less about reality or the human experience, ITS A MOVIE, I wanna see good car chases, gadgets, explosions, etc, I'm not paying ~$8 at a theatre or ~$12 for a DVD to watch "real life drama"

Going back to good remakes, I think Heat was an excellent remake of Mann's own L.A. Takedown - way better than the original TV movie.

My favourite parts of Bond movies are the expositions, since the denouement is usually typical, Bond shoots the baddie and all is well, but not only did Casino Royale have an absolutely cracking and well-developed exposition (which, for me, is everything up to the poker game), when it should have ended (when Vesper and Bond are chilling on the beach,) it continues on, a new story is told and the classic huge-evil-organisation-with-silly-name is introduced.

Quantum of Solace was very cookie-cutter, like Die Another Day.

The poll is flawed.

Best remake ever?

Erm, 'ever' hasn't happened yet. Best remake so far maybe, but not ever.

Not sure if it's already been posted, but is Casino Royale technically a remake? The original Casino Royale was more of a satire than anything else, unless we're using the word "remake" liberally.

Either way, I think Casino Royale is arguably one of the best series reboots for sure.

There was a telivision movie of it around 10 years before Dr. No was filmed as well (which was a serious film, unlike the spoof of it).

You should watch the 70's remake, or even worse, the sequal to the 70's remake. Those are some terrible films.

Different wants I guess. I happen to enjoy both and possibly due to reading the bond books I prefer this 're-invisioned' bond for the films.

Just occurred to me that Eastwood's A Fistful of Dollars is a remake, although I haven't seen the original Yojimbo. The movie is so good it's got to be in top ten of remakes.
