I saw your post in the N5 thread. Sorry, like a FAD, I'm not modifying the A8 in any way.

I just got the A8 IEMs from Cardas, and so far half way through their break in period, they are not offensive in any way, or in other words they are not doing anything wrong at all. I'm looking forward to more.

Agreed.

I'm concerned about the discoloration of the blue coding. Is that really a problem with these headphones? Also has anyone removed the blue coding to see what the brass housing looks like?

Does anyone have an extra 3.5 cable? It seems Cardas only has the Pono and AK replacement cables, and are out of the standard cable.
If anyone has one please let me know.

Following up - I'm really loving listening to these. Very natural sounding. I'm hearing lots of new details in tracks that I know well.

I actually like the look of them...blue is a nice change of pace...
Now they are broken in to my liking. They are very even handed in frequency response through out the range that you get, but at both extremes, bass and treble, the very ends are rolled off. A very good match for the Mojo on the go. I enjoy them quite a bit in this configuration. iTouch 6 -> Penon Audio lightning to micro usb -> Mojo -> Cardas A8 -> Spinfit tips.

I got a pair of these today, I also got the ak style 2.5mm balanced cable, this will be the main one I use as I got these to pair with my onkyo dpx1.
I plugged both the 2.5mm balanced cable and stock cable in and took these photo's
2.5mm balanced cable is on the left, stock cable on the right.
one of them looks pocket friendly, the other not so much.
the plug and strain relief is longer than the width of a fiio x5 ii
