I was ready to chuck in the towel and stick with what I've got, even asked fora refund but today I ordered the DT990s 250Ohm. Hoping this will improve the situation.

They are coming tomorrow so I'll report back. If I still can't tell a difference, I'm giving in! Maybe buy ears!

What sort of music format are you using? 128kbps mp3 is going to sound lame coming out of any system. CD/FLAC is what you want, at least, these days (space is cheap). Could be part of the problem....
