I'll be there in spirit, I living literally on the other side of the plant.I’m looking forward to hearing your impressions!!!
I just want to know when I can preorder it .
Bro, I think I took that snap off you! Can’t wait to be at CanJam yet again and see everyone there! Been a good few months since I last checked in as life completely took over. Joining a research lab and getting a project done in the summer was a lot of work but also a ton of fun.
I’ll only be there on Sunday as I’m meeting a bunch of different friends on Saturday. Luckily I won’t be missing out on too much, hopefully, and I’ve got a lot less to hunt down than most people that attend (4th year coming + other meets, I focus almost exclusively on IEMs, (un)fortunately I don’t get along with certain driver configs and can avoid them, and I need to get my CIEMs checked, so less cable rolling). I’ve gotta go tweak my demo playlist from last year, get all my adapters prepared, and figure out what booths I want to hit up. Lots of fun stuff to try and I can’t wait to be there again. If anyone sees me around and wants to talk, come right up to me, I don’t bite. I shouldn’t be hard to find either haha, should be wearing more or less the exact same outfit. Can’t wait to be there on Sunday and have some fun!

Friday morningSo when is everybody arriving in town?![]()
Driving down from SF Bay Area and should be rolling into the hotel around 5 or so. Looking forward to meeting people IRL, even though I am new to this forum and community it has been a blast so far. If I am wearing my pack, you will see this amongst other patches - it's like a name tag, I guess.

Here already!! Can’t wait to meet everyone and try out some new and old things!
Always fun seeing people’s demo track playlists so I’ll list a few songs out of mine. My playlist generally ends up around 25-30 songs, with a core 4-8 I listen to on most sets, if I really like a set or find something interesting I’ll listen to the other ones I keep in there. I’ll pick out a handful or below.
(Artist) - (Album): (Song)
Camellia - U.U.F.O.: Mystery Circles Ultra/U.U.F.O
Fast electronic music song that I know fairly well having listened to it on a lot of gear. About as rhythm game as you get (why I’m familiar with it). I’ll skip to about 2 minutes or so then let it play out from there. A bunch of different reasonably fast drops that let me gauge dynamics and bass, the songs also got quite a few layers that are not audible on cheaper sets which serve as a baseline judge of resolution.
Camellia - U.U.F.O.: Hello (BPM) 2021
2021 BPM speedcore electronic song. It should be obvious why 2021 BPM might expose some issues haha. I really enjoy this song and I primarily judge how far things get buried by the speed.
Merzbow - Pulse Demon (Remastered): Tokyo Times Ten
(EXTREME VOLUME WARNING) My favorite song off of my favorite album. This is a notoriously loud, harsh, and brutal harsh noise album. Lots of layers on high enough resolution sets, but some of the flagship sets can fail miserably and get completely overwhelmed. This is a judge of raw texture and detail to the sound and whether sets can drill any depth out of the wall of noise.
clipping. - There Existed an Addiction to Blood: Run for Your Life
Horror themed industrial hop hop. This song’s core gimmick is that the beat is made to sound like it’s playing from cars driving by. Great for seeing how the stage and imaging on a set is. Songs off of this album and it’s sequel, Visions of Bodies Being Burned are all supremely well recorded and mastered, and I love using them for test tracks.
clipping. - There Existed an Addiction to Blood: Club Down
Noise heavy, very atmospheric song. Lots of different layers to pick through, with some very clean vocals layered on top. This is one of the most “universal” test tracks for me in the amount of things I can look for.
clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned: Looking Like Meat
Huge heavy distorted bass, one of my test tracks for bass quality and texture. Lots of unique textures and effects I can listen for.
Patricia Taxxon - Agnes & Hilda: Your Throat Belies
(Album cover is quite questionable) Chaotic hyperpop/glitch pop adjacent album. Taxxon has lots of unique synth work with interesting textures, her vocals are particularly unique, and Taxxon’s work tends to be quite hot in the upper mids and treble. This song exhibits all of these qualities, as well as a couple different forms of processed vocals I like to see the presentation of because of their sharpness. If I’m not bothered by any upper mid or treble harshness on this song, my whole library will be fine. On some sets, the particularly dense sections (like 1:20) can have the space collapse down and feel congested.

I drove down to L.A. from the Bay Area on Wednesday. This is my first CanJam but my second Head-Fi meet (2015 in Burlingame). I’ve been inactive on the forum for a few years, and I’m looking forward to meeting fellow head-fiers and testing closed and open cans that will meld well with my tube amp and complement my current gear.
My bags are packed, I'm ready to go!
Just put all my gear in my new custom cases from @Visveswaran Umashankar and his Alt-R brand of cases. I wanted them in black leather and he delivered! They are beautiful, functional and sturdy with amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Finally, a way to transport it all in style! Thanks, Vishy, you'll make me look good at CanJam! Excited to see everyone soon!
