We're delighted to be attending this year's CanJam NYC.

While I won't be there personally we've got one of the head designers of our upcoming IEM attending so feel free to pester him questions at the booth! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Room block at the Marquis is full.
RIU [Hotel] is also just a block away and quite nice. There are LOTS of hotels in & around Times Square

Said every New Yorker ever. :wink:lol

I'm thinking about going, would be my first one, though I'm in a middle of a 2 week business trip, as soon as I get back, I have a 3 day meetings (including dinners) that ends that Friday before CanJam NYC. My office is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, so we'll see how exhausted I am to be able to attend on Saturday. Would be nice to try out my newly received Enigma AMT+ with some cables and DAPs.

Pointers on some places others can go:
  • Tsuru Ton Tan, 64 W 48th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, they specialize in Udon noodle soups, originally from Japan.
  • Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, 321 West 44th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, cook yours BBQ (need reservations).
  • Wondee Siam, 792 9th Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets, authentic Thai (even my friend from Thailand recommends them).
  • Patron Mexican Grill, 608 9th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, hole in the wall Mexican restaurant/bar with 100 oz margaritas.
  • TIm Ho Wan, 610 9th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, dim sum.
  • Virgil's BBQ, 152 West 44th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
  • Del Frisco's Grille (instead of Del Frisco's) for more laid back steakhouse, 50 Rockefeller Center between 5th and 6th Avenues. (I prefer Empire Steakhouse or American Cut)
  • Becco, 355 West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, Lidia Bastianich's Italian restaurant where she cooks there on certain days.
  • Boqueria W40, 260 West 40th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, Spanish tapas/paella.
  • Joe's Home of Soup Dumplings, 7 East 48th Street between 5th and Madison Avenues.

There really isn't any GREAT pizza in that area, good pizza would be Little Italy's on 48th between 5th and 6th Avenues or John's at 260 West 44th between 7th and 8th Avenues.

Open to giving other suggestions, just let me know type of cuisine and/or bars.

Hey guys.

I’ve gone to Can Jam the past two years. This year I might have to bring my kids, 11 and 8. Do kids have to pay?
Getting them involved at a young age. The future is looking good

Yep. When I was a kid my dad had a pair of Klipsch box speakers he bought in the 60s that he cherished (he still has them and they are willed to me), and he played Neil Young & Pink Floyd records on them all the time. That stuff stuck with me, just look at me now.

When I was a kid, I would push the cone dustcaps in on my dad's floorstanding speakers. He still hasn't spoken with me.

I just realized that the registration of listen session for HE-1 started ten days ago, undoubtedly it's already full. A bit disappointed because I was really hoping to listen to my dreamed HE-1. I don't often check for updates on the Head-Fi forum. :sob:

Do any guys know that if there's still a chance for me to try the HE-1? Thanks a lot.

Sennheiser usually has a waiting list in their booth you can get on for cancellations. There usually are a few cancellations throughout the show. You should stop by their booth as early as possible to get on the waiting list.

Hi, I was wondering if you could bring gear to sell as well.
CanJam is a show for the manufacturers to show their latest models and technology. Some of them do have specials and many do offer their gear to buy. Check with the administrators but I think no would be the answer to your question.

Do confirm with them.

Regardless, have a fun time.
