Advancements in semiconductor materials and MEMS fabrication techniques have resulted in a new class of transducer, called Piezo-MEMS. Piezo-MEMS μSpeakers have unique attributes and beneficial performance improvements over traditional inductive coil-based speakers. One notable new capability is time-domain resolution. Absolute and relative phase will be discussed in this technical primer, along with Piezo-MEMS theory of operation, design, fabrication, packaging, and testing. Awesome! I'm also really excited that it's in Dallas--I am too busy to fly out to the other canjams, but having one happen essentially in my backyard makes it super easy to spend a day learning more about the hobby, trying new things, meeting new people, etc. I already plan on meeting up with a buddy from an audio discord I'm in, so it should be a good time. I hope you enjoy CanJam as much as I am hoping to!

By far, one of the best parts of any CanJam are the ad hoc meets that spring up at breakfast/lunch/dinner/etc. You get to hear gear that may not be at the show, and most importantly, make new friends!
