I am planning on purchasing the HiFiMAN HE-400 and pairing it with the Fiio E17 to be used on my PC and various Apple idevices, and I am wondering if I can use it as a DAC on my PC, while simultaneously using it as an amp on said PC. Any help and information would be much appreciated, thanks!

It should convert the digital USB signal to an analog signal then amp it for use with headphones.

If you need further clarification, most amp and DAC combo's do this by default and the ones that dont' do it by default have a line out switch that has to be reswitched.
