I bought a Little Dot MKIII a couple months ago (love it love it love it), and it has been working great. No ground-loop issues, tube problems, or anything.
My setup is: Macbook -> uDac -> LD MKIII -> Mackie MR8 Reference Monitors
recently, when I plugged in the RCA cables from my xbox into the MKIII, I immediately hear a low buzzing noise coming from both speakers. The channel isn't the issue, because no matter which cable (red or white) is plugged in, the sound comes from both speakers, even if only one is plugged in. I tried switching the red and the white to see if it made a difference, and it did not.
I moved some stuff around, and randomly, the sound went away. perfect. After reshuffling the cables, though, it has come back. I haven't been able to isolate what might be causing this interference. I don't have a wireless adapter close by.
When I plug in the RCA cable coming from the uDAC in the MKIII, the sound is not present.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? How can I isolate the issue and get rid of it?
