eBay's buyer protection plan is made for stuff like this. How much do the phones usually cost brand new? I just can't imagine someone selling something counterfeit for thousands of dollars. I mean if they usually cost 10,000 then yeah I be wary. But if they're usually 5-6000 new then 4500 seems like a reasonable price for a used item. I'm new to the portable audio world but I've been ebaying for nearly 10 years and have never been scammed. Have you contacted the buyer? Try to get a feel for him. Ask him where he got em, how long he's had em and why he's selling them so cheap.

The R10 has been discontinued for some years now.  There are many more famous counterfeits in history that sold for millions, it is not out of the realm of possibility to rip someone off for a few grand.
