Well now, perhaps you could get my HD477's as a "thanks for being a lady and joining HeadFi- we need more of ya" gift (chuckles, j/k, roflwafffle
biggrin.gif
) and mod them for a quickie experiment, but personally, I'd say go with at least HD580's. I'm looking for a pair myself. (PM me members of HeadFi, I'm beggin ya!)

Oddly enough, the only cable I've ever broken was at its jack, and they were my SR60's. I had to solder a new serviceable jack in its place, and lemme tell ya. I hate soldering, about as much as I hate computers that don't work right. But I was lucky enough to actually get them working again, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they've got a 4 conductor cable. Needless to say, I don't want to have to solder after that

Realize that you'll probably need another gajillion dollars for the source, amp, cables, power conditioner, couch, head support, insurance.

I don't mind computers that don't work right, I'm very good with computers. Very. Manuals are for weaklings, but anti-static wristbands are in fashion
tongue.gif

It's always at the jack I break the cables. The cables get pulled, stepped on, twisted, and eventually I lose connection in one side.
I don't even want to begin with the soldering-business

We'll see... We'll see...(I may give the sennie's to my little sister for her birthday, since it doesn't look like I'll be able to sell them here, but if I get her some KSC75's, then I'll keep you in mind
biggrin.gif
)

Well hey now! If you can de-crappify my computer and get all smooth running and stuff, I'll do all your soldering... and stuff

Well, it's a little difficult when I don't physically have your computer in front of me, but first you wanna... er, wait a minute, is it a windows PC? I only know those
tongue.gif
if it is, which version of windows, and what's wrong?

Welcome Stray Blue, as many have warned you previously leave while you can before it's too late. You start off with buying the little things then soon you move on to bigger and more expensive items. Before you know it you're hooked and like everyone else here have wallets that serve no purpose but to take up space in your pockets and collect dust.

It's a Win98 SE system, and that's pretty much self explanatory. It also lacks any USB 2.0/firewire interface anywhere, and my Chaintech soundcard is defective, so I'm also without quality output from my computer(try the AV710 if you want a cheap HiFi source out of your PC, btw)
...Basically, my computer sucks. Big time. But Firefox sooooo makes up for it in some respects.
