Good chance it's a counterfeit. I wouldn't risk my own money on it.
 
Getting PayPal to refund money because an item is counterfeit is difficult to do. You would have to provide evidence from an independent third-party such as an authorized dealer or a reputable appraiser who examines first hand the actual item you received and makes a written statement of its inauthenticity. (I'll spare you the story about how I know this...)
