I really like Solaris, but I broke it, more specific I sat on it and the joint broke... I am disappointed - did not happen to obravos...

You sat on your $1500 IEMs?

Lmao I thought the sound nozzle broke or something. Well if you apply ~80 kgs on an IEM wire pressure point, no crap it's gonna break.

When miko64 said the joint broke I thought he meant the black part where the shell turns into the nozzle

Do we need a PSA that cable connectors are fragile?

As far as shells go, CA IEMs should be among the better ones out there. Imagine sitting on some LCDi4s...

So I tried the Solaris at a couple of shops.

I’m not sure if it’s a burn in problem, but they sounded different. They are after all pretty new.

But one of the pairs I tried, I really liked. Ken has always gone for that ‘big’ sound and he definitely did it here.

Sure the humor is good but I guess it’s not that funny for @miko64, I remember when my Phantom shell cracked (a build default in my case but still... heartbreaking...)

Still pretty surprised that the Solaris would break they look much more resilient than a CIEM especially those from EE with non filled and thin shells...
I posted an inappropriate comment. I took it off and I apologize.

OK, but you know, If you can't afford to lose it, you can't afford to have it. Go collect seashells on the beach, that would be a good hobby. I left my brand new A&K SR15 on a bar in Manhattan 2 months ago. Oh, well... I laughed it off...

That’s pretty unnecessary... We’re talking about audio gear here, not cars or houses.

It seems like campfire IEMs are all very durable for the most part. Does anyone find the gold 24k plating to be more prone to damage compared with the Andromeda?

I had the white andros, babied them both the same. They're both sturdy.

I never had any chipping with the andros. Not sure if that's because of the cerakote or because I babied them or both. I see more wear on pics of the green andros.

Thay being said, neither the gold nor the dark part of the Solaris look like they would chip. Time will tell.
