Unfortunately, living in the UK we don't see the same price reductions as you guys do in North America but there are still some half decent deals around - so yes, they do like great VFM.

While I'm here, just a note of thanks to you particularly for all of your commentary on the Dorado's - really very helpful and enjoyable to read - thank you

Glad I could be of help. The Dorado 2020 is a legacy IEM for me.

I love my Dorado 2020. There's a reason it is still my profile pic!

I maybe a bit late to the party here but I've just finished reading all 86 pages of this thread and after having read/watched every review I can find, I'm 99% convinced that Dorado 2020 will be my next IEM.

But, I can't try before buy and will have to order and hope I like them - so a final question if anyone can help......

I listen to mostly rock and metal, used to play bass in a rock band (so need to hear good bass!) and will be playing music through a Chord Mojo using Poly as a source with red book FLAC/WAV rips and Qobuz Hi-Res. I've been nursing along a pair of UE Triplefi 10s for several years but they're on their way out now - so the Dorado's would replace them. Example musical tastes: Slash, Alter Bridge, Tremonti, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach and so on.

Question - is there anyone out there who remembers the sound signature of the Triplefi 10s and whether the Dorado is similar and would make a good replacement? Bit of a long-shot question but if anyone has any experience of both I'd really value any feedback/thoughts.
Have sent you a PM :)

I'm a big fan of rock music (amongst many other things), and I think Dorado 2020 is right up there with the very best when it comes to this genre.
The only IEMs I've personally heard which competed are ones in *much* higher price brackets, such as the Fir Xe6 and Vision Ears EXT etc.

I haven't heard the Mojo, but if it's rather warm/organic, it might not be the best pairing with the Dorado 2020 (unless of course you want to double down on that kind of signature).. but I must add this is pure speculation on my part; just added as something for you to consider.

However, I own the Gryphon and as another person mentioned already, I can confirm it pairs marvellously with the Dorado 2020.
For me, I engage the X-Bass, X-Space and Presence functions and I find it makes the sub-bass of Dorado 2020 even more impactful, whilst opening up the soundstage and increasing separation and technical performance, all (importantly) without compromising the unique sound signature of the IEM.

Anyway, let's see how things work out, but I hope this helps :)

How about it's pairing with Lotoo PAW 6000? (the only DAP I am contemplating) would help more if anyone compared it with RU6, Gryphon, Questyle M15 sonically!

Hi everyone, New Dorado owner here. I'm VERY pleased with them!! :L3000:

The only thing that's been putting me off is that whenever I use silicon tips while inserting them in there is a point that I feel some pressure between my ear and the IEM (vaccum~ish), and there are times that I hear a loud metallic pop! My guess is that it's the Driver flexing due to the pressure. Has anybody else experienced this as well? Should I be worried/more careful about that?

I've experienced this multiple times, but none of my IEMs were ever damaged, so I don't think that there's anything to worry about. I'm no IEM expert however, so others might chime in with better info :)

I see... Better safe than sorry! I'll be more cautious.

That's so very true. Now I look forward for hearing from some IEM gurus whether this pressure buildup is something one should be careful abour or not. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong on this one

Yep, Matt's work is great considering his prices.

I have experienced this as well. I emailed Campfire directly and they indicated it would not be an issue short or long-term. I have never experienced the driver flex with the foam tips, which is the main reason I use them. I think they sound slightly cleaner with the silicone tips

Glad to hear! That's the same reason I started using silicone tips as well. No news to most people here but with the foam tips, the bass sometimes may bleed into the rest of the frequencies, and even though silicon doesn't eliminate the bass, it tames it a bit.

There is also the trade of foam being better at isolating, though I've seen some silicon ear tips foam-lined inside. I might give them a try soon...

Final E silicone tips (the newer version with magenta/grey bores) are the best with Dorado, in my opinion. Tried about 20 different tips and always went back to them. Foams or Symbio - too muddy and less muscular sound to my taste.

I also experience the click and to be honest I really like this "installing" sound, didn't considered it weird :)
