Nope, just the app. To be honest, I am very curious to know how it manages to do it and why other apps (or even hi-end DAPs) are so much worse in this regard. Easy answer would be that UAPP uses some sort of noise filter that inevitably reduces SQ, but 1) I use it in Bit Perfect mode, and 2) the sound is uncompromised (at least to my ears) so I have no idea... until I find some time to look into it, I will remain blissfully ignorant. :)
I like the idea Blissfully ignorant...
you dont know what your missing if you dont know at first.. hehehe

I dunno if anyone has done this, but I removed the stem from some comply waxguard foam tips (which has the wax guard glued onto it), and stuck it onto my Andromeda. Then I took some peeled symbios and placed them over the stem of the comply waxguards to make some waxguards for my Andromedas. In terms of sound, they sound the same to me, and my symbios no longer pull off as easy since the stem of the complys cause a tighter lock.

I just didn't like how exposed the tri bore nozzle of the Andromedas are to ear wax and debris

I dont trust wax guards effect on sound. I want the best sound possible no matter what.

This might sound really dumb- but I was playing around with the EARSTUDIO ES100 and they have something in the app called Dac Filters. I was changing them them while connected to my Andromeda’s- I know these iems are sensitive to certain things, these dac filters can’t damage anything right? I know I’m just more paranoid because I just purchased the andros haha.

Your earphones are fine :), just keep them clean, avoid dropping them and don’t push insane amounts of power into them.

Thank you for the clarification! I’m very careful. I got the earstudio for desktop dac use, and the IE MATCH to plug into my MacBook on the go, lighting adapter for iPhone X. I don’t plan to run them on anything else, maybe my magni 2, but I hear that’s safe. so I’m trying to be careful!

But wow, they sound amazing. I’ve always had issues with over the ear headphones (comfort) and recently got introduced to IEMs and decided to just go for what many say are the best... they are incredible!

Well well well :)

Spent a couple hours down at Hifiheadphones in the UK A/B-ing the two Andromedas and my Solaris today so I finally had a chance to listen to the famous Andromeda S. I was mainly focused on the Andromeda-Solaris differences so I didn't spend all that time comparing the two Andromedas, but my experience matches up with what people have said

For this test I was running them out of an ifi Black Label on Ultra Sensitivity with Ref8 cable and spiral dots
  • Treble on the Andromeda S seems slightly cut off compared to the Green Andromeda, vocals sound good on both but the S isn't quite extending as far as on the Green so they're lacking that magical feeling you get with the Greens
  • Mids are more prominent on the S, the bass guitar in the background was far more noticeable when listening with the S than the Green
  • Bass is slightly deeper, I don't remember my pair of Greens having such good bass so it was surprising hearing it on the Greens after such a long time, but the S had some meatier and deeper rumble to its bass than the S
  • Didn't really notice any difference in soundstage between the two to be honest
Overall they're extremely similar as you would expect, but with a very slight spin to either favour treble for the Greens or to favour the mids and bass with the S in my opinion

Interestingly the Solaris was pretty much superior to both in every regard, although the tuning means that vocals aren't as prominent on the Solaris as they are with the Andromeda but that's a different story :p

Very nice Impression....

Unfortunately for me the Solaris Demo is postponed in local dealer... but I somehow get the idea where solaris will be

but regarding Andro OG and SS, as I recall from my memory, OG have more bass than SS...
SS with ref8 is different beast, everything seems more thicker, but also the Hiss... so very source dependent... Sub Mid is excel on SS

I prefer OG because is sufficient in my available source, and not planning to upgrade it...
As I remember using Ref8 on OG also create noticeable Hiss on Note 8.... but not really using the regular silver Litz.... that's why I prefer OG....

hmm postponed again? The CA dealer in Jakarta told me they will get the Solaris this month, I'm still waiting for ref 8 cable from them as well.
