A decade ago this asking price would get us some fancy IEMs for sure, but now it falls into the guilty pleasure gap indeed :D

10 years ago I thought I was a high roller with my SE215 :D

Same here with Westone 3, these were my first serious IEMs after stock earbuds. And now that Westone's oldtimer versus i.e. CA's Andromeda... :D

I love all these memories of our first/early high-end IEM’s. I remember getting my mind blown by Westone UM2, as well! Now, it’s CA or bust!

Yep, we remember them quite clearly even though it's been years :)

Now, it’s CA or bust!

Suffice it to say, as an enthusiast I don't look for next IEMs now that I have Andromedas :)

I totally agree! With Solaris 2020 and Ara alternating in my ears, I have nowhere to go.

Try the Oriolus Isabellae...it will round out your collection with a single DD. If you love Solaris you'll love the Isa.

I'd say that personally I see lots of directions I could take from Andromeda, but I don't feel like upping my game above these IEMs with our xDSD, or even finding out what's beyond. That rig does it for me, and not spending any money on portable audio feels kinda nice

DUDE! I'm here for the Andromeda confirmation bias, not to obsess over yet-another-IEM!

I think it's a smart move by Campfire to offer the Honeydew as an affordable version of the Vega 2020. It might well appeal to folks like me who'd be up for some bass-cannon fun but who don't want to fork out $900 for the pleasure, especially as this kind of tuning is a long way from my typical preferences. I'd not want a Vega 2020 as a daily driver. But there are bass itches to be scratched from time to time...

I sold my Polaris 2 when I got my Andromeda Golds and always regretted it
You can get a second-hand Polaris 2 in "good" condition for $349 from Campfire's ALO Deals website here

My thinking exactly. If I wind up liking it I may order a blue balanced cable like this and go for a "blue sky and sunshine" vibe.

Honeydew ordered. If it sounds like Atlas but with better bass texture and smoother treble then I'm most def in :) I liked the Atlas's fun signature during my demo with it. Great for EDM and bassy tracks

Compared with Dorado 2020, Honeydew seems to have an earlier peak at ~6kHz which may give that sweetness in its tone. Dorado on the other hand at 8kHz, which gives off this wider more transparent stage feel. However, due to my sensitivity to the 7-8kHz frequency area, the Dorado 2020 to me sounded more fatiguing for longer listening period. The Honeydew diversely, dips this part and in place lift its 10kHz for its stage lighting. From the graphs too, the Honeydew seems more appropriate to being an L-shaped signature, whereas the Dorado a more neutral sound.
